Leafs dont have any need for another bottom 6 FW, we have plenty... too much in fact.

Leafs reject the Rangers trade, when does a backup goalie have the value of top 6 FW?

Without the Rangers you proposed, Ottawa move does not happen.

To be honest I’m 100000% doing the rangers trade, I fully agree he’s a starter now and has performed well so he will most certainly be a good starter in 2 years, hainsey would be a good pk guy again on the third pair with dermott and the deal with Detroit I’m fine with if that’s what it takes to move ceci any one would be stupid to decline any of these

What facts say Georgiev is a starter?
Isn't he losing backup starts to another goalie now?

Lmao you Leafs fans thinking that you can get him for Bracco and a 2021 3rd are completely clueless about what Georgiev is and isn’t.

And if Toronto doesn’t plan to let Andersen walk, they shouldn’t make that trade

Can you please be so kind to factually support your argument about how a backup goalie has more value a prospect and pick?

He’s already a starter, he’s stolen 5-7 games at least this season ALONE facing 30-35 shots a game and he’s 23

He is being used as these bait, lundqvist won’t waive NMC and they have a guy that’s really young who is the future franchise goalie, Georgiev is 30-27-6 in 66 games with a 3.02 GAA and a .913 save % he is average but has developed year after year into a quality goalie and give it 2 years he will be a quality starter who will be cheaper and the leafs can then sign a quality backup to split time like in Chicago.

First, he has only played a total 66 games in the NHL.
In all of 2018, he played 33.

That is the definition of a backup.

Being 23 cuts both ways, he has not played enough games to say he is more than a backup right now.

People said the same about Martin Jones, how's he looking?

Truth is, the comparable for Georgiev is Grubauer.
Remind me again, what was that trade in 2018 again???

Nah. That’s the definition of someone who arrived from Europe in 2017, got called up at the end of 17-18 to back up Hank, outplayed Hank during the back half of 18-19, played like a legit starter this season while facing 30-35 shots a game and playing behind misters turnovers...oops I meant Skjei and and Staal...

Then keep Georgiev and Leafs will keep Kapanen.

Maybe you can convince Pittsburgh of Kahun for Georgiev????
Or another teams FW.

Grubauer was older than Georgiev, mid to late 20s. Georgiev is in his early to mid 20s

If Georgiev was as good as you are making him out to be, NYR wouldn't be trying to trade him and even better, force their hand into playing him more than any of their goalies. Cause...who wants to trade goalies that steal starting jobs.

Goalies are generally a crap shoot....for every one goalie that figures things out at NHL level, there's plenty more that don't even manage to stick around as backups.

If NYR want the sun and moon for a backup I guess there won't be any TDL deal involving Georgiev. Would be pretty funny if they don't trade him by the TDL and then in the summer everyone will know they gotta move a goalie.

Probably will get less for him then lol

We’re trying to move him IMO because of Igor’s contract clause(if he’s not playing enough he can just f off back to Russia and we can’t lose him for nothing.

Cool. Grubaur and Bishop are fair comparables in backup goalie trades. You don't have to like it. It is what it is.
