Thanks for thinking of us but not a chance we take that. For starters replace Johnson with Kap and even then the Hawks wouldn’t jump on it.

Are you stupid? Hawks are getting a major steal in that deal (& zero chance Kapanen would be the piece going for Murphy unless it's Murphy plus more)

The value actually favours Chicago but it's a good hockey trade. Leafs get a decent #4 or #5 right handed d-man and the Hawks add some needed scoring. Not to mention that moving Murphy opens up room for other right handed d-man prospect for Chicago to try out.

Use your head a bit.

Ah the typical response:
- leaf fan trades for defense
- leaf fan puts defense on top pair
- other teams fan says no
- leaf fan say defense in trade is actually bad in response (sometimes a different fan)

You should learn to read properly before joining in on a topic..
- I never said Murphy was bad. I said the value was in favour of Chicago
- I also never made this idea, or said Murphy was a top pairing guy. I actually said he's about a #4 d-man
- I said this was actually a good hockey trade for both teams

... learn to read next time before you chime in wink

So Kap; the amazing winger on pace for a whopping 16 goals! Typical Leafs fan overvaluing their players.

Sorry pal, we have a guy named Kubalik, you know a rookie winger with already 21 goals this season and on pace for 35 goals; we don't need a middle 6 winger with 10 goals at the cost of a top 2 D man on our roster.

Murphy a #4 or #5 D guy? Do you even watch hockey? Have you even seen Murphy besides the two times he's played Toronto?

You seriously don't have a clue, but name calling always comes from the guy in a position of strength in a argument right?

ANYWAY, the Hawks say NO and hang up

Hawks score just fine. What they need is defense. They can actually use another Murphy. They sure as hell can't afford to give him up.

"Kid" I'm pretty sure I'm older then you, lots of name calling gives it away for you.

Yup, we hang up. We have a rookie way out performing Kap or Johnsson. You want to talk about advanced stats, take a look for yourself. We don't need to trade a top 3 D guy for a middle 6 winger when we have Kane, Kubalik, Saad, Cat playing the top 6.

Try understanding the other team first before trying to debate from a position of weakness like you are.

Kapanen has one of the best 5v5 pts/60 in the league.. that's getting someone better than Murphy.

Clearly you can't read my first post then. I said Johnsson for Murphy favours Chicago in value, but it's a hockey trade for both teams. It allows Chicago to bring up more RHD prospects (like Mitchell) and give more ice time to Boqvist to see what they have while Chicago needs to retool their roster. But yeah, I was clearly just looking at one roster. Nice job wink

Again, try understanding the other team's position...clearly you've done none of that. Boqvist, Murphy and Mitchell are our 3 RHD guys for the future; what does trading Murphy gain us? Bringing up some unknown guy that's not on our prospect list? You don't have a clue, this is obvious.
