I think a one year prove it deal around 3/3.25 is all he will get. I think they end up going to arbitration and that’s the number he ends up with. Also, after listening to a wings podcast, I agree that Mantha should still get a long term contract, even with the injury history. A short term deal either gets him to or close to UFA status then he could be lost for nothing or cost us a ton. Plus a long term contract could be a bargain for him now with the lost season. Imagine a 6.5/7 mil x 6 years for a 35 goal/70 PT player

AA has been not-so-good this year, but I'd imagine if they went to arb, he'd be up for more than a $250 K raise due to the 30 goal season a couple of years ago.

I’m not fully sure how they get the number but I did the comparables a couple weeks back on number of games, age, points, and such, and the number was around 3.5-4% of the salary cap. That’s where I got the number..
