But he has no leverage and I don't even think he'll get 5. But who knows. Maybe 4.5 is where I would try to go.
20 goal scorers are worth roughly 3.5 a year. He has potential to be more than as he's hitting upper 20s. That which is why I put him at 4.5.
But I don't think he has the leverage to ask for more. I also don't think he signs 6 years. That isn't good for him or the team.
They should sign him till he's 25-26 and then do a long term deal. So they get all his peak years and are then done with it after the next deal. You sign a guy to 7-8 years at 25-26 and you got them till they are signed to 33-34 which is exactly where you want a contract to end if you think they are a long term player.
