big no from pit here. McCann and Johnson are performing very well and are very important pieces to this team and we dont get back a top 6 forward in this trade. also wh would Pit take sutters contract?

What the Penguins need is a stable line up and while you may not consider either of the players in the group a top 6 forward, Reid Boucher hasn’t gotten to actually play in the NHL and when he’s has he fits perfectly into the second line. As for Sutter with the issues that they have had in keeping the role players healthy adding someone who understands how the organization works can go a long way. While Johnson maybe playing well what Pittsburgh will need to make a push into the playoffs is a defence core that can keep things more stable in front of the goalie and what I’ve seen of Pittsburgh this season is that the whole d core needs help

Boucher is equivalent to Blandisi. Perfect for the second line... no.
Baertschi is a worse contract is horrid, with another year at $3.4M
Schaller is $1.9Mx2 guy doing what basically any $700K replacement from WBS can do.
Sutter's last two season have been worse than Bjugstad, for $275K more cap through next year.
Tanev is the #4D on a not good D core, and is a UFA.

So that is 4 solid misses and one meh, the "meh" being a UFA to boot. Tanev, 3 100% contract dumps, and an AHLer.

I wouldn't give Galchenyuk and Johnson for that motley crew, so totally forget about including McCann.

What a joke. The only player of value in the entire trade is McCann. Outside of that it is rentals or bad contracts. Huge no
