Interesting move for sure, but I think Strome is better than Hanifin. Not against going after him, but I just don't think Strome is someone they should give up. Maybe if Dach was more ready

Hanifin is going to be Flames #1 LD once Gio is done, they wont trade him for this.

I'd love to have Hanifin, but Calgary would have literally zero incentive to move him. What you've offered is insufficient, and it would be silly to offer them more when the team is still figuring out what it is going to be.

Plus, I wouldn't trade Strome anyway.

Toews, strome, and dach are all such similar players that it just seems redundant to have all three moving foreward and a top 4 LHD is a top priority IMO

Which is why I'm still frustrated we took Dach over Byram. But even then, he has a high ceiling and you never know when Toews is going to start his decline. But I think Strome will be the best of three going forward, I wouldn't look to move him, especially for Hanifin who isn't having the greatest of seasons.

Problem with those top three is that there isn’t a single dynamic center among them. They’re all slow footed and typically don’t drive play like their wingers usually do for them, except for maybe toews. Hawks need a speedy, dynamic center very badly. If they wanna trade strome, they gotta get a speedy center in return in my opinion.
