the penguins don't want Johnsson. They need a RW long term not a LW.

Alright so what if johnsson and kapanen were switched in their respective trades?

It is fun to look at some of your ideas, but I can't see San Jose moving Merkley without a serious overpayment by someone.

yeah that's pretty much the trade a lot of people are really looking at. It's a win win for both sides.

Really, I haven't seen anyone propose a kap for PO Joseph anywhere. Helps our D depth and Pitt basically reverts the Kessel trade from years ago lol

I thought it was kind of an overpayment tbh, I think most teams would value Robertson higher than Timmins especially after the season he is having this year aswell as his world Juniors, that's why I did offsetting picks and Gauthier is the overpayment, Colorado gets a really good faceoff specialist with size and responsibility and a really good LW prospect

Ahhh my bad I totally spaced yeah you are right. What if we also included Bracco? Maybe a 3rd instead of the fourth?

Half the team? Maybe but we had more spots to fill last offseason and why not turn our matured prospect that can get more opportunities elsewhere for promising young prospects?

I could see the Sharks parting with Merkley if the Leafs offered Kapanen and 2nd round pick. Big-time overpay from my perspective, but that's the kind of deal that I think San Jose would look for. If I were Toronto, I'd definitely pass on that deal.

Yeah I'd rather swap kap for more RW depth on ELC and a pick. Merkley is nice but not worth kap yet, maybe at the end of next season if he gets some games next year.
