I don’t think the Canucks would be interested in trading Thatcher Demko, let alone to the Laffs. I mean, Ian Scott is good, yes, but I just don’t see it imo.

The Canucks will probably find a way to prevent the Seattle team from taking Demko. Look at the last expansion draft, look how that worked out for Vegas. They got William Karlsson in exchange for taking on David Clarkson and some picks. Hell, they convinced the Panthers to trade Reilly Smith to the Knights for Jonathan Marchessault.

The canucks would have to pay a boat load to prevent Seattle from taking Demko, example, minny paid Haula, Tuch and a pick to guarantee they wouldnt take Dumba

IMO;
1. Van doesn't have the cap space to makes this trade. I think the Value is... close.
2. If Van decided to trade Demko, I think they would look for a "bigger bodied" top 6 player. I'm not saying Johnnson is bad, but not well suited for Vans tops six needs.
3. Yes, Van will lose a player to Seattle, every team will. If not Demko, it will be somebody else. If Van did make this trade, it could be Johnnson that they lose to Seattle.

We can get more for Demko than that if we needed to trade him.
