Boarding!?!? What!

Further more what is charging in your books exactly. He did it all game. Skating across the whole ice surface and hitting someone is charging. 4 strides is charging. He didn’t have to jump at him and hit him from behind either

Oh now it's charging? What are players supposed to do? Stop before they get close to someone. Thats wierd because he laid him out 3 times and the refs and panel all decalred them clean hits. Sounds to me like you're all butt hurt because he's not on your team and really, I dont blame you. I would hate him too if we had to play against him. Not only can he score, he knows how to win games

No just when you are engaged with another player

Okay so define "engaged" because i didn't see him wrapped up with anybody with on of the hits.

Yes boarding. It was a dangerous hit. Kassian has is back turned was engaged with another player and Tkachuk certainly could have ended him. He was definitely in the danger zone for a boarding call.

But instead kassian took care of it and flames won on PP. happy ending for everyone.

Kassian never even touched the boards. Please if that was reversed and it was kassian delivering that hit, you'd all be singing a different tune.

I’m a flames fan.... if kassian gave that hit I would be very much against it. Yes kassian did hit the boards. Not as bad as he could have. But also keep in mind that refs can still make that call.

When Mcdavid comes rushing in after you...I think you have done something wrong.

Tkachuk is a cheap shot specialist. But unlike players like Marchand and Kadri he doesn’t answer the bell. I actually really liked kassian response in the post game. He said it didn’t bug him at all. He likes that style of hockey. But Tkachuk is a *****. It’s true though. Tkachuk is real tough when someone’s looking the other way. But when they are toe to toe he cowers.

As an unbiased fan of neither team, both players made dirty plays in the game. Tkachuk did hit Kassian in the head earlier in the game, but Kassian's reaction after Tkachuks 2nd big hit was worse imo. Tkachuk was pushed into the boards by another Oilers player and then Kassian grabbed Tkachuk from behind and started wailing on him. Maybe if Kassian didnt throw cheapshot punches at Tkachuk and actually gave him time to turn around and drop his gloves there couldve been a real fight. Bad decision from Kassian that cost the Oilers the game. Its funny how everyone is mad that Tkachuk 'turtled', but what is he supposed to do once he was grabbed from behind? You cant blame him for protecting himself from getting suckerpunched repeatedly

Ohhhh they were both cheap. That’s correct. But players definitely know when you do stuff like that you will have to pay. Guy turtles every single time b

2nd hit he was engaged with flames D man who Tkachuk knives down as well. First was below the goal line which is a no no. Raffi Torres got suspended many time for. Read Scotty Upshaw tweet or Ray Ferraro tweet or any other NHL players tweet about it.

Why would you hate him if he was on another team. It can’t be from winning because flames haven’t won since the 80’s

Those hits hurt a lot more than the punches, but Tkachuck was right, he took the 2 min powerplay, his team scored and Calgary gets a huge 2 points over a division rival. As cathartic as it was for many hockey fans to see Tkachuck get thrown around for a bit it just wasn't very smart to do that. I dont feel bad for either of them, but I do feel bad for Conner Mcdavid, all he wants to do is win and that dumb **** losing him games is a constant now. Please get out of Edmonton for your mental health

That player was Mcdavid and of you think for one second kassian is going to let Tkachuk go after him you’re crazy.

I am going to be completely honest here. You sound like someone who has never played hockey. You coast. 1...2...3... brace and coast. You also keep your feet on the ice (3rd period hit). The panel is made up of boobs. But they did say it was charging. And yes the refs did not call the hits... just like that wasn’t a goal against Tampa right? They couldn’t be wrong.

First hit was charging, a head shot and could be construed as intent to injure. The second boarding. The third was charging again. Tkachuk was lucky to get away with all 3 but you aren’t going to get away from kassian. Tkachuk was targeting him all night with malicious hits. He got what he got. I would hope the league doesn’t had anything to stiff down to kassian. To be honest I wish they would do something about Tkachuk before he he gets hurt.

Mcdavid was the first one in on Tkachuk, I believe it was part of the reason wjy he got thrown down the first time.

Who the hell is scotty upshaw? ?? maybe don't skate with your head down and you wouldn't get "knived down". And as for scotty Upshall, last time I checked body checking was legal in hockey. Even below the goal line. If you're going to stare at your toes as you skate behind the net, you deserve to get obliterated. Stop acting like you're a goal scorer. You're not. You're a 4th liner playing with the best player in the league. Your lack of hockey IQ showed as you lost your temper with the divison lead on the line. * insert slow clap here *

About what? I didn’t write the rules.

I love the way Tkachuk plays. He got the power play and screened the goalie for the game winner. You can’t sit here and cry foul when he gets his just deserts.

And you obviously dont understand them. It's funny how the refs didn't see any 3 of those hits as being penalties, yet every keyboard warrior north of Red deer does. Everyone hates chucky because he's effective. Like it or not, he's a smart player and he can actually produce. Everyone hates to play against him but would love to have him on their roster. If kassian delivered those 3 hits to chucky, you'd all be telling him to keep his head up...

Mcdavid isn't as clean as you paint him to be. Just ask leddy. Tkachuks style of play is to draw penalties and get under the skin of the other team. Especially the players with zero hockey IQ and a temper. Insert kassian. Did he cross the line with the doughty elbow ? Yes, he also got suspended for it. Does he do stupid **** like marchand and lick people? Not even close. To say it didnt bug him is crazy. If it didn't bug him, he wouldn't have tried to retaliate and fight him. He would have tried to give his team the lead going in to the 3rd period. Fail.

Again... refs make mistakes and don’t have the luxury of video review. I’m a flames fan, I live right here in Calgary and I hate the oilers but I’m not a complete bonehead homer like you. Did you just start watching hockey in the last 2 years. Scottie Upshaw player in the league for almost 20 years! George Paris and Calgary flames fans are right, the rest of the hockey world including hockey players, ex hockey players, NHL fans are wrong. It was a clean charge to the head to a player below the goal line and in a venerable position. I hope you feel better now. I can’t wait until Battle of Alberta. It’s finally back after a long time.

It’s also funny that Kassian got 2 minor penalties and a 10 minute misconduct. Like he imo should have got 5 minute fighting and game. I seen refs give 5 minute majors for two guys wrestling. Refs were a sleep in this game.

Wait wait wait. Was kassian not trying to injure tkachuk? How in the hell is that any different. You seem a little hypocritical there. Tkachuk lays 3 body checks, which are legal in hockey. Borderline, sure. ? Illegal? No. Kassian drops his gloves and attacks him intentionally TRYING to injure him. Thats cool though cause he got laid out so it must be justified right? Losers.

No the problem is that hitting is slowly being removed from hockey and the minute a hit is thrown everyone throws their hands in the air and freaks the **** out and picks it apart. Oh well he was skating below the goal line. Wtf does that have to do with anything!? Keep your ***ing head up. The dude got exposed. It's not difficult to see that there wasn't anything wrong with the hits. If it was womens hockey. Yeah obviously. But hitting IS still allowed in the NHL. Kassian is supposed to be one of the tougher guys in the league. I dont understand why he is crying because he got caught multiple times with his head down. And because he was getting embarassed why the hell does that justify his right to go beast mode? Lucic got laid the f*** out in the mtl game tonight. Guess what, he didn't go attack anyone. He shook it off and got the hell up. Everyone is saying tkachuk was targetting kassian ... give your f***ing a head a shake. Thats the point of the game. Stop the guy with the puck, which can include hitting him . And don't give me this bull**** about oh it was charging or it was head contact blah blah blah. Really? because the refs were right there and had multiple chances and angles to call a penalty. But again, hitting IS legal. Head shots can be reviewed by the DOPS. Wierd. Nothing. No , actually not wierd at all. I don't give a **** if your an oilers or flames fan and it has nothing to do with me being a flames fan either. The hits were clean, within the rules. Kassian was just getting dunked on and couldn't handle it.
