How in the world would you sell Cernak? The guy is a solid D and our grittiest player

What about a deal that include Cal Foote? As a Devs fan, I'm not too sure how he's being gauged. I'm guessing you guys love the Foote brothers coming up.

Obviously not saying included in this package. But what would a package look like with Cal Foote involved?

Tampa would never do this deal as 1. TJ would never waive for NJ, 2. Tampa doesn't need a defensive rental atm, 3. Cernak is part of the future RD plans here and 4. Tampa wants no part of Simmonds and that contract. I believe Tampa may attempt to address the F group with a trade for Kreider, Toffoli or longer shot Pageau, but this trade isn't it.

I view Foote similar to Cernek in value but less value than Sergachev .. improved alot last 2 months.. I would give Foote in above deal in place of Cernek

Vertanen is rock solid.. Cernek had been good but little upside for him over time.

Ah the small minds that come along once in a while .. Tampa has 10 plus Million at TDL for this year ... Vertanen and Simmons are UFA and Palmieri has 1 year left .. Tyler Johnson and his 5M contract with 3 years left are gone and no 3M AAV needed to sign Cernek .. so it really a POSITIVE cap impact with need to resign Rutta as back up for Foote

Dude you as a Tampa fan know that there's zero incentive for Tyler Johnson to waive his full NTC from Tampa to New Jersey, Get real here he's not leaving a potential cup team in Tampa for a crap hole team in New Jersey. It's not remotely happening nor is it plausible. Johnson determines where he goes as he has full say in what teams he's willing to waive for. And i can pretty much tell you New Jersey isn't that team.

You got the trade partner right, but not the players. Haha. I guess 1 in 10 worked.(not that much teams in the nhl who would trade with us- other contenders never trade with us for example or teams who dont have expiring UFA etc...).
