if you want Kovalchuk to miss the net and see a lot of pucks up over the glass put Kovalchuk on RW
If you want to see good scoring attempts and a ton of rebounds for our battlers in Gallagher , Armia , and Cousins then put him on LW .

i watched a lot of Kovalchuk in the NHL and KHL , i can recall a half dozen games maybe where he played RW
13 career hat tricks from LW though tells me he's who you want with Domi and Armia because they cycle pucks and drive the net making them always 1 stride away from closing in on a rebound .

Tatar-Danault-Suzuki
Kovalchuk-Domi -Armia
Lehkonen-KK-Weal
Cousins-Thompson-Poehling

healthy :
Tatar-Danault-Gallagher
Drouin-Domi-Suzuki
Kovalchuk-KK-Armia (6'3 and 6'4 big wings for 6'2 KK .. easily the heavyweight line )
Lehkonen-Thompson-Byron
Cousins

That ain’t true. Tatar and danault still have a noce chemistry. Just last game tatar had two excellent chance create by exchange between him and danault. He could easily have score one or two goal against tampa bay if he haven’t miss the net. Yes gallagher is a big part of that line but he benefits a lot from the work of danault and tatar

Nah, the real chemistry from that line was Tatar and Gallagher. Danault just plays well no matter who he is with because he plays a simple (yet effective) game.

Ummm, I'm sorry but you couldn't be more further from the truth.... not trying to be mean at all. Danault and Gallagher weren't linemates prior to Tatar arriving, and very rarely played together to boot... check for yourself:

https://frozenpool.dobbersports.com/frozenpool_linecombo.php

Gallagher's main linemate / Center prior to the 2018-2019 season, was Tomas Plekanec by far. They were a consistent duo for almost 2 years...The winger that was with them rotated between Byron and Hudon.

Danault prior to the 2018-2019 season, his linemate was Pacioretty...all. the. time. .... the guy who filled that RW spot was Shaw, and the year before was Radulov...

Just stating facts my friend, no drugs involved...

But they did play together prior to tatar arrival double check my friend they play together in 2016-17 before gallagher got hurt. So Gallagher and danault have work together before tatar you are wrong and i am right!!

...... you really want to keep going with this?!......

The 2016-2017 season was the year of the Pacioretty - Danault - Radulov line.... that was MTLs only effective line that year... you are right Gallagher was hurt, but by no means does that make the 11% of the time or so he played with Danault mean they had developed a good chemistry... and as I said Danault since arriving in MTL has basically played well with whoever he's been with. Because he's an all around great two-way Center.

Without taking away anything from Danault, the true chemistry of the line today is with Gallagher and Tatar. If you don't see that, well we'll just have to agree to disagree.

And the fact that tatar was replace by drouin for a spend this year and danault and gallagher still produces a the same level that proove exactly my point! Boum chakalaka

With Gallagher out and the season in the crapper, it may not be a bad idea to try out some different line combinations, or use Tatar and Danault's consistent play to help lift some younger players.

I was just excited about having a right-handed winger on the right side with Gallagher and Armia out. But, you know him better than I so I'll take your advice. I'd still rather see him lower in the lineup 5-on-5 with a responsible two-way C that can cover for him defensively but still compliment him offensively like Danault.
