Ya right. Do you want McAvoy too?

1 A 1 B prospect and a 1st will roughly do the trick...

I'd rather have "1 A 1 B prospect and a 1st" than Debrusk

I doubt that gets him without retention

He has averaged 30g per 82g since joining the Devils. He’s not a rental either and has a good contract. Going to cost a 1st and a good prospect just to get your foot in the door. If you want retention price goes up even more.

Start with sending DeBrusk to a rebuilding team for Palmieri? That's not the return Devils would want and Bruins won't and shouldn't trade DeBrusk. They are contenders. Devils will ask for a 1st round pick and at least 2 B prospects.

Why wouldn't NJD want a deal around an established 23yr old LW whose on pace for back to back 20+ goal seasons? They could put him with either of their young centers and let then grow together. As for Boston, well if DeBrusk isn't scoring, he's not doing much else. His production since 2017 is in line with teammate Danton Heinen. While Heinen isn't the goal scorer DeBrusk is, Heinen is a better 200ft player. Boston also has a lot of LW and given the same opportunity, Bjork would probably produce the same or better and again he's a better 200ft player.

It's too early to give up on him based on that lol. His presence in the playoffs alone is enough to keep him around.

Whose giving up on him? You gotta give to get. If I'm NJD I want knowns, not more future's that may or may not be worth anything when all is said and done.

If NJD aren't going to be competing for another 2 years or so then what's the rush? With a 1st round pick they could find themselves a kid with a higher ceiling than DeBrusk that could be NHL ready in a year or two.

A 1st from Boston is going to be mid-late 20's. Most likely that 1st wouldn't crack the NHL for 2-3 years and even then they'd need another few years to establish themselves. So that 1st is probably 4-5 years from being an impact player in the NHL.

DeBrusk would be 25 in a few years and entering his prime....seems like perfect timing for a team that wont compete for a few years, no?

For a guy who said I should know better, you're not really bringing up any solid points.

Do we need to go through a list of how many players were NHL ready in 2 years as 2nd round picks? I'm sure you can use your imagination. 4-5 years is a hefty number and usually doesn't take that long unless they turn out to be duds and in that case never make the NHL.

Sure let's go through your list, but first was the criteria you used to say a player was NHL ready.

Two of them are on your team lol
Bergeron
Carlo
Hronek
Yandle
Demers
Weber
Mete
Gallager
Anisimov
Tierney
Duclair
Callahan
Paquette
Cirelli
Dermott
Fredrik Anderson

A few players are after the 2nd round, I stopped at the end of the Atlantic division because I do not have time to go through every team, but I am sure you can imagine the list would be quite big. Also those are all active players. There has been thousands of players drafted in the 2nd round that were NHL ready in 2 years over years of the NHL's existence. If we were to talk about how many were NHL ready in 3 years the list would skyrocket.

Were not talking about the 2nd round or later. Were talking about late 1st, so say picks 20-30. Also what's your criteria for being NHL ready. First we have to agree on that.

Btw Duclair? Really? He had 1 good decent year after being drafted and the proceeded to bounce around to 4 different teams. Hardly call him NHL ready at year 2.

Callahan? I'm assuming Ryan Callahan, didnt do much of anything until his 4th year post draft.

Those are just two off the top of my head that I debunked. But again let's define NHL ready and then look at your list. I hope you come up with something better than this because this lost doesn't really prove anything. Again were talking late 1st (as that's how this whole thing started).

I said a list of 2nd rounders that made the NHL in 2 years.

Most players it takes a few seasons in the NHL before they reach their ceiling and to find their true game. Which seems to be the case with Duclair right now... Similar with Callahan and again, most players.
(Rebunked)

Don't condescend me. You have the list you wanted. I don't get why you are having trouble understanding the list when you wanted me to provide a list of players drafted in the 2nd round that made the NHL in 2 years... Simple is that. Don't waste my time.

Who cares about 2nds we're talking late 1st. Your trying to change thes argument. I'm asking NHL ready like your said and you can't define it. As many laughs as you've given with your **** takes, I'm done with you. Reply or not I don't care because I'm just going to put you back on the ignore list.

Btw Duclair is in his 6 nhl season and as you said is finding his game now.... your literally contradicting yourself with your own examples. This is how bad your takes are hahahaha.

Sad, very sad how crappy the quality of posters continue to get around here.
