Not that bad of a proposal - but sheesh has Bennett been a bust so far in his career. This is his fifth(!) season, but he's only 23 though so could be a "change of scenery" type player. I'd just make it a 3rd though and 2nd if Granlund resigns or make the WCF

Bust? No will he ever live up to the #4? No, hes changed his style to stay relevant though, but hes still a solid depth player with a high IQ for the game. He never became that 2C we hoped for and has had some trouble trying to play the off wing. I think he would be a solid 2LW on a lot of other teams. Josh Andersson kind of player. The problem is he often outplays himself, his speedy and puck control doesnt keep up with his game knowledge and leads to mistakes due to over thinking plays.

Lol the "he's too good, that's why he isn't doing well" response - you can say all you want, but 5 NHL seasons as a 4th overall draft pick and he has only had one 30+ point season. That is not the start to a successful career - at this stage, with his expectations, draft pedigree, and his current play, I'd call him a bust.

RNH was a 1st OA draft pick in a year that had both Kucherov and Gaudreau, not to mention a bunch of other players who have shown ti be better. Would you say he was a bust?
2014 was generally a weak draft year Arvidsson, Point, Larkin Ehlers and Nylander are the only guys i would say clearly could have gone before Bennett.
I guess our definition of bust is just different. If a player plays in the NHL consistently regardless of their draft position they are not a bust to me. If they had a high draft position but still play in the NHL thats just not living up to expectations. If a player is drafted high or thought of a valuable prospect but eventually struggles to stay in the big leagues (ie. Pulujarvi) they can be considered a bust.
