Uh no we don't. 0% chance that trade happens from a red wing side

That Detroit trade is awful for both teams. First I thought Edmonton was tiring to find another winger for McDavid so trading Draisaitl now you'd need to fine 2 players for McDavid to play with but thats a good idea completely piss off the best player in the world. Now Detroit's point of one player can't carry a team anymore yes Draisaitl is a great player but trading him for Detroits 3 best players makes Detroit worse. With Safin it's too early to tell good skater, great size but when it mattered in the playoffs he was on the 4th line. JP is a bottom 6 guy at best and thats just my opinion.

So this trade is is not smart for either team and no sane and competent GM would even consider making a trade like this.

If one player can carry a team to the cup why doesn't McDavid have a fistful of Stanley Cup rings?

Its not just Draistle though, Pool Party is showing he can still play and that 2020 1st going to Detroit is either a lottery pick or a 17-20 pick, yes I have no faith in Edmonton making it that far.

So essentially Detroit could walk into 2020 season with Draistle centering Lafrenier, with pool party coming into the fold and another high end prospect in the system. They are still 3 years or more from actually contending and need as many elite pieces as possible, Mantha, Larkin and Betruzzi are all good players in thier own right but none of them are top players in the league, this trade gets you one of the best players in the league plus more assets that are closer in age to Detroits prime assets.

Is it the best trade for either team no, but in my mind Detroit wins this one.

Like heck we do? Yeah maybe add RNH, Bouchard and Broberg to the deal to peak Yzerman's interest.

Outside of Draisaitl Detroit is giving up by far the 3 best pieces. Need to add RNH, Bouchard and Broberg to the deal and Yzrman still turns it down. All 3 Detroit players are pretty much untouchable right now.

Not happening. This is 0% happening or even close in value. Larkin is not ever moving, if you wanna do the same trade but take out Larkin and add in AA you got it
