You know what is funny, I would normally agree with you but engvall has been superb both ways. He would make a perfect 3c. I fon’t Think now is the time to thrust him into it though.
I've liked engvall a lot as well. I'm pretty sure hes been a winger so far with the leafs and if they were to trade kerfoot I would want to make sure he can play in that role. I'm a lot higher on kerfoot then some people so I might be biased but I think engvall can be a fine 3c, I just think that kerfoot can be a very good 3c.
Honey the way everyone's been playing I think kappy should be moved if they absolutely have to. The mikheyev-kerfoot-engvall line has been spectacular and that is where kappy should slot in. To get the most out of him he has to be 3rw bit if engvall is there he has no where to go. I really like johnsson with AM and WN so they should probably keep him but it all really depends on keeping mikheyev. If they can keep mikheyev then one of johnsson or kapanen should be moved but if they cant then it would be kerfoot, i just want to see engvall perform as 3c in a decent sample size.
I dont like the proposed trade at all but I do really like the options the leafs have. Assuming they keep hyman and johnsson on the top two lines they have a ton of options to fill in the bottom 6. Moore, mikheyev, kerfoot, kapanen, engvall, timashov, petan, korshkov, marchment (who I love) and bracco (to an extent) are all viable bottom 6 forwards. That doesnt even include gauthier, spezza, brooks, agostino, aberg and wilson who are capable 4th liners
