Not sure what the issue is here. Is this not a website to propose fake trades and discuss value and speculation and learn from each other and just have some wishful thinking? Am I wrong?

I read the description and this trade is still awful. Not even a first? Give Tampa something. Yes toews is great but there is a huge age gap there.

Maybe... maybe not. I sent a top prospect and a second rounder plus retained salary. Had I overvalued him I’d make it a 1:1 trade.

He captained 3 Stanley cup teams, Conn Smythe winner, Triple Gold member, Selke winner, career 60+ points per season average and somehow had 35 goals and set career highs in goals, assists and points last season. He plays a 200 ft game and is consistently tops in the league in faceoff%. He had a slow October and since has been quite productive so overall numbers appear low but he’s warmer now than beginning of the year. I’m less in tune to the advanced stats for him so I won’t speculate there.

If you think Toews is overvalued, then by all means offer more to the discussion.

Gustafsson is worth Mike Reilly, Brett Kulak or Christian Folin, not even a pick. He is horrible, it’s ridiculous how bad he is. And the Tampa trade is even worse, Toews is worth a late 1st and A prospect if you retained on him & I still don’t see a team trading for him. Kucherov have 4X more value than Toews + they don’t need centers with Point Stamkos Cirelli

hes never had a point per game season in his career,sure hes a great leader but you can find veteran depth for a league min contract and ya his contract is awful toews. Tampa wants young cheap players with loads of talent in a hypothetical world where they trade kuch not a 31 year old thats main quality is GOOD LEADER. How is that guy a top prospect if he was a top prospect I would know him hes not a top prospect a top prospect is Boqvist

Stamkos can play RW and when I did this I reviewed some TB depth charts and other fan created teams and they had Stamkos at RW. I don’t watch TB so if I’m wrong there then fine but I did review and saw Stamkos playing RW. Plus half the fanbase is trying to trade Johnson and Gourde.

Gus’s advances stats are improved upon last season. It wasn’t until this time last year that he really offensively took off. Stan should’ve traded him when he was at peak at last years TDL but that’s neither here nor there. Gus seems a little more defensively sound than last year to be honest. I also jokingly made that trade because the MTL fans don’t like it when Hawks GMs trade him there. So it was more of a joke.

For starters, Kucherov just might be the best player in the world on his own position. Just scored a century record for points with almost 130 points. Also he's only 26, and under great contract with maximum term and below $10M deal... Toews is 5 years older, he's more expensive, he doesn't score in the same rate etc... There's not a single thing in this deal that would turn out as better for TB when compared to what things are looking like at the moment.

If CHI wants Kucherov, the deal probably has to include Toews, Debrincat, Mitchell and some picks. TB would also have to give up another roster player to make the money work, because Toews is more expensive...

Maybe I misspoke. He’s one of the more NHL ready prospects the Hawks have. I’d anticipate he makes the team out of camp next year and fits a LW3 role to start. He’s a 4th rounder and 20 years old who is climbing the ladder well and adjusting to North Am ice and game. Most Hawks fans believe he’s the real deal to make the team and impact starting next season.

I don’t disagree that Tampa would never trade Kucherov. I just wanted to discuss it was all but everyone gets so upset so easily. For arguments sake, Chicago calls Tampa and says “what do you want for Kuch?” What does BriseBois say is fair value? That’s all I’m asking man.

Stamkos is playing RW because Cirelli is too good to be 3C so Point is their #1 center and Cirelli #2. I’m watching Hawks game and every single time Gustafsson is in the neutral or defensive zone, he’s creating turnovers, bad coverage, bad pinch, like he’s bad. In the offensive zone, he surprised me, but he isn’t worth a 2020 2nd round pick due to is poor defensive play. And yes, Hawks should have trade him last TDL.

Personally, if that’s what it takes, I value Mitchell, Toews and Cat too much to make a trade for Kuch.

Boqvist your 2020 1st round pick is a good start

To be fair that starts the negotiations. Then some picks are added. Probably a 1st at least. TB prolly adds Gourde to make the money work.

Lol Kane is elite, but my vote would go for Kuch.

To be fair, Kane has 5-6 more years in the league that Kuch so they’re at different points in their careers. Kucherov is 100% more productive than Kane was at same age.

To be honest, Boqvist makes me nervous. Obviously he’s 19 with a high ceiling but he didn’t do anything yet in AHL and definitely not much in NHL. He’s learning so you cut him slack and D is a tough position but if he’s THAT bad at defense idk why they don’t make him a RW. Let him use his natural offensive abilities like they did Byfuglien.

It’s too early to trade Boqvist BUT the #8 pick last three years (excluding Broberg) have been iffy. Maybe it’s a cursed draft position lol. I wouldn’t be heart broken if Boqvist left in a blockbuster such as this. I was hoping for Quinn Hughes but since he was off the board idk why Stan Bowman didn’t get Bouchard, Dobson, or Wahlstrom. But this is why I’m an ACGM and Bowman is a real NHL GM (for now).

I think from a draft pick perspective, Hawks probably value getting an 18 year old in the top 10 than get an established Kucherov in his prime if the team is going nowhere. If this was the Hawks of the mid 2010s I’m sure they consider it more.

It'll cost more, its like another team asking us for Kane but when he was younger. Its not a price we should be paying anyway. Doubt theyd move Kuch anyway see them moving palat/johnson/gourde first.
