the name no one is talking about... John Marino from the penguins.. 22 years old rookie from Harvard.. 4 goals 15 points in 32 games.. averages just over 20 minutes a game. obviously won't win but deserves to be at least brought up in the conversation

Q. Hughes and Makar have pretty well pulled ahead of pack, it will take a really good 2nd half to catch them (recency effect can do that)

I'm actually going with Makar, Olofsson, Marino right now. I think Marino is the best defensive rookie this year. Q. Hughes is at 4 and I have Blackwood at 5 for being a league average goalie on the number 30 team in the NHL.

Also, if Philippe Myers keeps up his play, he should be top 3 by the end of the season; he had a late start but he's been unreal for Philly.

Unfortunately, Suzuki isn't even a top 10 rookie this year.

One of the 5 options up there so I figured he was in the thread starters top 5. Also Suzuki is currently 7th in rookie scoring. He's probably top 10 right now.

The defensemen in this class are way too good to consider Suzuki as top 10. My top 10 is all defensemen besides Olofsson at #2 and Blackwood at #5. Guys like Carson Soucy, Philippe Myers, and Matt Roy are getting completely overlooked.
