Not in my opinion I think he's been fine. I think people are trading him because Keith and Seabrook aren't going anywhere and there are too many D prospects making the transition next year.

You keep saying this and we keep trading him. You never offer an explanation. You just come here to say no to all the Habs trades and leave. Go somewhere else.

Gustafsson is worth a 3rd round pick, nothing more and every Hawks fan are trying to get their 2020 2nd round pick back from MTL, it wont happen

It's not going through. Especially for that price. I imagine the blackhawks resign him.

Bowman can be a bonehead but hopefully not that big of one to resign Gus since they have Boqvist who is cheaper and has a higher ceiling.

Still can't see Bergevin even having interest in him. He doesn't want rentals and I don't see Gus as a guy who can play defense well enough to play in Montreal's system.

Last year trade Deadline-

Nick Jensen to Washington for a 2nd
Brandon Montour to Buffalo for a 1st and a B prospect
Ben Lovejoy to NJ for a 3rd.

Gus has his flaws defensively but I would have gus over any of those three guys.

You say he is worth a 3rd when recent trade history doesn't back up your theory.


I agree that Gus may not be the best fit with Montreal and a different dance partner is probably Chicago's best option.

Montour is way better than Gustafsson
Jensen is a little bit better than Gustafsson, but he's reliable defensively
Lovejoy is better defensively, who wants a guy horrible defensively comes playoffs ?

Gus has played 20 fewer games than Montour, and has outscored him by 20 points,
Corsi For Gus 52.1 Montour 49.6. when Gus is on the ice his team has the puck more than when Montour is on the ice.

Goals against while on the ice at even strength Gus 164 Montour 145, Specifically last year Gus 84 Montour 76.


If the only knock on Gus is his defence, I dont see it in the stats. Gus primarily played on the #1 D pair last year where Montour was on the second d pairing behind Lindholm and Ristolinen.


I wont bother looking up Jensen or Lovejoy stats because I already have an idea of what they will be.
