The toronto and Pitt trades are so one sided for the habs lol, Tatar is not even worth a first, and you want to tag along two first rounds

Tatar is worth a 1st. I figured the cap retention and taking a problem player might be worth another 1st. Just an idea. Counter?

Leaf fans love Muzzin, Weber is Muzzin but better. So use Kerfoot and Ceci's cap hit and get Weber? Nashville is on the hook for any early retirement, so no issue there. Leafs finally get a good defensive (and offensive) RD that can push people around. Danault is criminally underrated, but your right, his elite defensive talent doesn't fit Toronto's model for forwards.

Galchenyuk has been traded twice in the past 18 months? and on the block again? Probably negative value at this point. KHL if he doesn't get his crap together. Also, Tatar at 2M is a big deal for a Penguins team.

and pay two firsts plus William Nylander. If its Muzzin + Kerfoot + Ceci for Weber, yeah, consider that, but what is posted here is a serious no.

Other than he's 34 and is already extremely slow and can be exposed at 5v5. Nylander is the best player in the trade, the whole thing is trash and a pipe dream by a Habs fan that wants to unload Weber

You are also getting Danault. Who is one of the best shut down centers in the league and still produces. Also, under a great contract for next year as well.

You are underestimating Weber's value. That's fine.

I don't want to "unload" Weber. I want to rebuild. Weber has value, and is exactly what Toronto needs.

You're right. A 25 year old that's been traded twice in 18 months and that only has 10 points while on the Penguins roster while making close to $5M and already on the block... A ton of value right there.

His attitude and family issues were leaked in Montreal. Its no wonder Arizona and now Pittsburgh are done with him this fast. He will go rip it up in the KHL soon.

Wow some pissy Leafs and Pens fans on here thinking these trades dont have value. Kind of interesting, people always say Habs fans over value thier players but this thread is full of Leaf and Pens fans really under valuing Habs players, it really is an endless circle.

his issue is the Habs coaching staff rotted him. He enjoyed the most success when he was a centre. Scored 30 goals and looked like he was poised to become a decent #1C. But Therrian moved him around from wing to centre, threw him with third line guys, etc... Therrians stubborness rotted him and its why he has never reached his potential. Im not saying he has "a ton of value" but to say he has negative value is just wrong. Pens will probably trade him for a similar struggling player, a 2nd round pick, or part of a bigger package.

Where is the over value? Tatar is a 50+ point winger, that's traditionally meant a 1st + a B prospect that's the value in the Pitt trade with Galchenyuk thrown in because he is struggling.

Weber is worth multiple 1sts, so is Danault, getting Danault retained to fit salary is a bigger bonus. Ceci is a pile of garbage that's over played, so its Nylander w firsts and a third line center for both of them, that's pretty much the value, maybe instead of Keerfoot you get a lesser player but overall it's not far off.

#1- Poulin was drafted in the first round just last year and is having a great season in the Q. Tatar is absolutely NOT worth 2 first round picks + galchnyuk. thats just not even close.
#2- weber is definitely not worth "multiple firsts". hes still gonna end up having one of the worst contracts in the league. Its a gross overpay for him and danault.

Poulin is barely on pace for 100 points in the Q so let's calm down on how good of a prospect he is, and with money retained Tatar and the 1st likely being a late one it's closer then you're thinking

And if we were in person i would be laughing in your face at that Weber comment, guy is on pace for over 50 points this year and has been one of the best dmen in the league this year but isnt worth 2 late round first? You're a joke, especially when you bring up his contract being bad, it's a 7.8 cap hit, only negative about it, but if he retires trade him back to Nashville for an elite piece, if he gets hurt throw him on LTIR and trade him to a budget team that doest want to actually pay players but need to make the cap floor, his contract is actually a huge positive of you're smart enough to know how the system works.

He's already showing signs he's going to have trouble keeping up at 5v5 since he's slow and not getting any faster. He's owed 6 million each of the next two years and 3 the year after and the only saving grace is if he retires after that leaving another 3 years left at 1 million each. If he doesn't retire or get injured, the team that holds his contract has a nearly 8 million dollar anchor on their cap. That is why its a bad contract.
