So the idea is to go from one goalie to a tandem system? I can get behind that. I already see Leafs fans raging at trading Andersen but you know what? Andersen won't come cheap in his deal.

Leafs likely get priced out so perhaps trading him makes some sense.

The premise of this is to switch the Leafs to tandem goaltending rather then holding on to Andersen and realizing we cant pay on his new deal.

I would assume he is talking about sv% where he is absurdly consistent. In terms of his actual performance though he is a top 5 starter in the league.

It’s actually not half bad. The roster and cap are good. Still some room to upgrade in ufa a bit more. Doubt that Columbus makes that deal though.

Sv% wise, the lowest sv% Hes had since 15/16 is .914 his highest is .924

Can I ask why?
I mean they are getting a top notch goalie they should be able to pay.

I didn't even look at the cap or roster, just saw Seth Jones and I was sold. Why wouldn't CBJ do this? Market has 100 point potential and Andersen is one of the best goalies in the league. Jones is great bit Anderson has struggled and Korpisalo is likely not in their future plans.

What about the idea of switching from one goalie to a tandem? @Trickster makes a good point about Leafs being priced out at signing Andersen for more term.

If you think the Leafs can't sign him later, why not move him in the off-season to change the goaltending?

If this deal happened it would be the greatest thing to happen to this city since the raps won or the Jays surprise the baseball world and sign Cole outta nowhere lol. I feel like a kid on christmas after seeing this lol just ask @blowing_the_zone

Looked into it quickly. Impressive. My only fun fact here is that since 14/15, John Gibson has had the same, or higher save % than Freddie each season.

It's not that I don't like Andersen but he will be getting an insane raise...pricing the Leafs out.
