Who do you trade to upgrade backup and RHD

Description
The Leafs have a lot of depth at forward but desperately need an upgrade in goal behind Andersen. Which of Johnsson, Kerfoot, Kapanen, do you think would net biggest/best return paired with Ceci to upgrade our backup goalie and right side defense. I think all 3 are good young players but are ultimately replaceable internally if it means getting stronger elsewhere on the roster. Ceci hasn’t been terrible, but he’s not top pairing material and doesn’t mesh well on the ice with Rielly. He’s better suited playing safer minutes and not against teams top lines (unless you’re a team in tank mode)

No... Johnsson is 1 lw... nothing to do with marner. When marner returns Hyman and mikheyev can duel it out for 2 lw.

No Johnsson is the 3 in that group. Hyman should play with Matthews and Nylander. And Mikheyev Tavares Marner other top line. Or risk losing somebody for nothing when you have to start waiving players to fit under the cap

Hey you can wish in one hand and **** in the other but I can tell you right now which one will fill up faster. Johnsson is 1lw, has been since last season.

One other thing to note. The idea that teams are lined up around the block to snag Timashov or Petan (who has already cleared waivers) is funny.

Under Babcock the Hyman Tavares Marner line was clearly his choice as top line so no Johnsson wasn’t 1LW, Hyman was. And Keefe has been giving Mikheyev more minutes than Johnsson since he got here so I don’t know why’d you’d suddenly cut his minutes in favour of Johnsson when he’s looked good since his promotion to Tavares wing. I don’t think Timashov clears. He brings a ton of energy and lot of teams are being hit by the injury bug. More likely to be Petan and Shore that could clear waivers. No guarantee Shore clears thanks to his face off ability

Just going by how the lines were put on the roster... by both Babs and keefe.

I didn’t even bother with shore, I really wish he would get claimed.

I think you put mikeyev on the third line with kerfoot and kapanen. Let him see lighter matchups and Keep the depth scoring going. Not that I think Johnsson wouldn’t work well there either.

I don’t think I said trade him at all costs. He’s simply not top pair material and by default it seemed he was put there by Babcock and left there when Keefe took over. Ceci plays a similar game to Rielly just not as well. It’s why they don’t work together. They both like to take chances to make a break out defensively or pinch heavily in the offensive zone. He’d probably look a lot better paired with Muzzin who’d be more willing and able to cover up his mistakes. I don’t know if Holl is quite ready for top pair minutes and responsibility but I’d like someone more like him with Rielly because he doesn’t flash one way or the other. He just makes simple safe plays and that’s who you want with a run’n’gun type D man like Rielly. That’s my thoughts on Ceci anyway. He’s not bad, his style just doesn’t mesh with what Toronto needs from him, and at 4.5 he’s an obvious candidate to move to get below the cap

No Ceci is not a obvious candidate to move at 4.5m contract. Even if you move him you aren't going to get an adequate replacement. So what if isn't this fathom # 1 RHD, it's not like the Leafs have candidates to replace him. Again so many people think if Ceci is traded or plays reduced minutes....problem solved for the Leafs. So where is this miracle RHD that is going to play big minutes?
