Would assume the grubauer trade would be the precedent. 2nd round pick

goalies never hold great value, and part of that is most are streaky and then they are old.

It's almost a blessing in disguise that Murray is having a bad year. They will have to pay him less on a long term deal.
We'll see come the playoffs where he really is.

Penguins. Vlasic is bad now, like to the point that he has one of the worst contracts in the entire league kind of bad. Jones has been bad for a few years now and is older and more expensive. Don't know about the rest coming back but I'm keeping the two expiring contracts including the younger goalie with a better track record recently and the cheaper bad contract over what the sharks are giving all day long.

If Lehner and Crawford leave this offseason, maybe trade him to Chicago for Lankinen (goalie replacement), one of our lesser defensive prospects (Gilbert, Krys, etc.) and a 2nd rounder?

This is an interesting idea, might do my own post later

A ****ing 2nd round pick? Are you on crack? He's won two stanley cups. If Schneider was worth the 9th overall pick in 2013 Murray is worth a 1st rounder and more

He has. .900 sv% This year, no one is giving a 1st rounder
For that.

So he was good and a goalie trade 6 years ago is your counter point? Not even close my man

Yeah and a week ago his save percentage was above .915 so he has a couple of bad games and now he sucks? He's won as many Stanley Cups as your entire franchise has and his playoff save percentage is .921. He's worth a 1st rounder and more given how young he is and his resume already. And I like how you use the Grubauer trade as an example knowing damn well that if Orpik's buyout wasn't a part of that trade you would've given up a 1st rounder but since you want to act like you're stupid here's a couple of goalie trades for draft picks from the last few years.

2017 -> NYR get: Anthony DeAngelo (struggling former 1st round pick), 2017 7th overall pick (Lias Andersson)
ARI get: Derek Stepan (50 point 2nd line center), Antti Raanta (28 years old, 47 wins, .917 career sv%, 0 stanley cups)
2016 -> ANA get: 2016 30th overall pick (Sam Steel), 2017 50th overall pick (Maxime Comtois)
TOR get: Frederik Anderson (26 years old, 77 wins, .918 career sv%, 0 stanley cups)
2015 -> OTT get: 2015 21st overall pick (Colin White)
BUF get: David Legwand (Cap dump), Robin Lehner (23 years old, 30 wins, .914 career sv%, 0 stanley cups)

I can give you a couple more if you want but I want you to tell me why you think Antti Raanta, Frederik Anderson, Robin Lehner, or Corey Schneider AT THE TIME THEY WERE TRADED deserve a bigger return than Matt Murray if you don't think Murray is worth at least a high 1st rounder
