hockey is for everyone

Description
wonder when the term "hockey is for everyone" will actually mean, hockey is for everyone. if your boss called you a racial slur a homophobic slur, singled you out and embarrassed you in front of your superiors, if your boss kicks you in the head, if your boss manipulates and deceives you, you know like quit, press charges, hate that person forever. how come, if this happens to an NHL player, the tides are automatically different . how come Don Cherry is able to be xenophobic, how come Bill Peters is able to be racist, how come Mike Babcock is able to be deceiving and manipulative, and how come sticking up for your self, like any normal human being would do, makes you a snowflake p*****. this is what's wrong with hockey culture. players need to keep stepping up for themselves, everyone should. if this league whats respect, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, manipulation, and caption, among other things, need to go.

If hockey (particularly the NHL) wants to become a global sports league, people at NHL HQ need to wake up and realize it's 2019 and not 1970.

In the 90's I remember the NHL and NBA were head to head in revenues and ratings. It's not even close anymore and if I have to type out why the NBA has pulled away from the NHL, then the persons reading this won't ever understand my point.

Well time for my take which will probably piss all the snowflakes off. Let the nba nfl and mlb run away with it. Give us back our sport and let us be. Roll that **** back to the 70’s and quit trying to please a bunch of whiney ****es.

That is all...

You can be a tough person and still show respect. It doesn't mean treating people with respect is going to result in the hockey version of sarcastaball.

Yeah keep thinking that. The sport could be so much bigger but hey...if the powers that be want it to stay niche, its already there.

Nah man, certain things are wrong, we've evolved beyond what was okay to our grandparents. We're smart enough to know that racism, bigotry and chauvinism are very real and if that makes people uncomfortable, that's there problem not the people who are different. Peters needs to be fired, there is no question. Babs needs to evolve from the old school and demanding respect doesn't make you a ****y it makes you brave. They doesn't take away from the game, it makes it better. It makes it more colourful and pure, because it's what it's supposed to be, an amazing game anyone can play and love. Everyone needs to mean everyone.

Coming from someone who coached kids in China, the biggest hurdle isnt culture, its cost

It's both those things. You're living in fantasy land if you think that other issue isn't really an issue. Btw this coming from a person of colour...but that shouldn't matter, yet as we see this week, it does.

Yes... a global niche that draws players from all over the world. Every sport has it’s share of assholes. I don’t think anyone agrees with intolerant behaviour. Whining about it sure doesn’t solve anything. Pick them off as they pop up. Just like it is being done.

If there is anything that I would want to see it would be teams spread overseas. Scandinavia , central and Eastern Europe, Russia.

Now that would be a road trip. Bit of a scheduling nightmare but I’m sure it could be done.

Just so you know I said b i t c h e s. And I’m not calling the players that, that is directed to third parties and fans who some how feel hearing about such things some how cuts them deep and affects their personal life. I don’t think anyone is saying that those things are tolerable or acceptable. That’s why they are being dealt with. Peters should be fired for how ****ty the flames are playing long before you go after him for something he said in a dressing room a decade ago. That is something that should have been addressed then...

I can’t wait till they stop keeping score so no one’s feelings get hurt. The new nhl for everyone.

I don't need yours or anyone's pity points. Keep them for yourself. Think of all the unreported incidents and take into account the mentality of not reporting these things because its not the macho thing to do.

You using the "3 events in the last 20 years" is exact reason there's been 3 events reported in that amount of time.

Time to raise your IQ level on these issues instead of hiding behind "3 events in the last 20 years" crap.

Because no one likes being preached to. Also everything he is preaching about is mis informed.

If I came on the internet and ranted about you being an evil dictator and you rebutted, does that make you pro fascist?

I love the snowflake mentality of everybody needs to be heard so shut up...
