Potential off-season yes this is super early

Description
I know it's early to be thinking about the offseason but I had an urge to make this tonight.

A Few Thoughts:
1. I think even if Galch improves his play at this point he probably won't be resigned.
2. With how Marino has developed for the pens I find it hard to believe that Schultz will be staying with the team.
3. With how McCann has played at center I believe Bjugstad is gone this offseason if not earlier. The return I'm not 100% sure of at this point in time.
4. Jarry's play has me really thinking about Murray's contract. Both goaltenders need resigned and are RFAs. If Murray stays at .910 or if he climbs to even .915 do you want to sign him for 7 or 8 years? Do you think he accepts a 2 or 3 year deal around 6 mil? I think its absolutely worth trying to determine if Murray or Jarry is the direction the pens should go. If you could get both of them on shorter term deals I think that would be the best course of action.
5. Even with JJ's improved play I think a trade is absolutely needed. you can find cheaper and younger players who can play 3rd pair defence.
6. I think it will be worth looking at Addison and/or Joseph at the start of next season.
7. Poulin will probably start next season with the team.

I created Some Guy and Some Guy-Again to represent potential depth signings (whether thats 3rd pair defence or a depth forard) as I think having the pens sign anyone doesn't make sense this far from free-agency. They arent anyone in particular just some guy who can play hockey for the team.

As good as poulin is in the Q, I don’t think he’s ready for NHL prime time next year. POJ hasn’t been great in the AHL either

Poulin won't be ready (or all that close) next year, he'll follow at best a similar development pattern to POJ (two years in Jr+at least 1 in the A) and neither Addison or POJ are our most NHL ready d spec, that goes to Almari imo, he's looked really really good and time I've watched him, and we'll have Addison Hallander and POJ (and Puustinen ?) all (hopefully) tearing up the AHL next year (with Militec) then possibly all of them could be NHL ready the year after (Hallander Addison POJ* Puustinen maybe and Miletic probably sees some call up time next year) then you have Poulin and Legare a year later

Slow down Leroy, McCann is 1 of my favs... but $5m is a lil high... lets stick w/ $3-3.5 and Kahun will be around $2.5ish and 28 will be at 3.5 bc he aint getting more than Dumo

I tend to sign them to higher contracts just to account for any fluctuation. I went with $5M with McCann because of the 5-year deal and how well he has stepped up for the pens. Kahun I signed to a contract similar to what rust got. Petterson I find difficult, I think 3.5-4 is fair over 3 years but I could also see the pens wanting to go longer-term with him.

probably not, I just tend to sign high to make sure contracts work with the cap.

Yeah I can get behind that. I wouldn't be entirely shocked if they wanted to give Addison specifically a shot (like the first 5-7 games of the season) due to losing Schultz. I think POJ probably isn't ready but again I think maybe giving him a couple games wouldn't be the worst idea. Poulin is the one who might be able to stick IMO if he can find some chemistry on the big squad. So I think Addison and POJ both wont stay with the team but I think they might get a shot at the start of the season. If Poulin has what it takes to stay then great but if he doesn't I'd rather they send him back down to develop.

I don't know that any of them will stick in the NHL I'm just saying they could be given somewhere in the 5-7 game range to play with the big boys and really see what they need to keep working on at the NHL level. I think Poulin has the best chance of sticking around if he can find some chemistry with someone. I think POJ is the least likely to get a shot but giving him a few games probably wouldn't hurt all that much. Addison I think gets a shot for sure if we lose Schultz. With Letang being RHD1 and Marino looking like he can be RHD2 I don't see the pens signing a more expensive RHD that would for sure make the team over Addison.

No way McCann get 5 million. Will likely get 3 - 3.25m per.

Everyone still wants to overpay Murray, the overrated goalie.
