Description

Just a quick thought with Ladd being put on waivers/ assigned to minors

Devils get max value for Hall by taking on bad contracts, buyout Ladd at the end of the season ($4,833,333 for next 3 years, 333,333 for the next 3), get a veteran leader in Boychuk, and two great prospects (plus Wahlstrom has played with Hughes before)

NYI get Hall to add to their top 6, don't lose any major contributors from their starting lineup, and get some some cap space to resign Hall, Barzal, Toews, and Pulock, but lose 2 top prospects and a possible 1st

Thoughts on value? To much for the islanders to give up, too little, etc?

I don't think the Islanders will trade both Sorokin AND Wahlstrom just to dump 2 salaries and potentially "rent" Taylor Hall for the playoffs. It'll probably either one of the prospect, 1 cap dump and conditional 1st

They don't need to take two atrocious contracts in exchange to a TOP5 LW in the world... They should easily get that kind of return in prospects/future assets without taking sh*t contracts...

This is horrible for both teams.

Wahlstrom and Sorokin are critical to the future success of NYI, we'd be foolish to trade him for a rental or to move them to rid ourselves a terrible contract and an overpaid contract.

The Devils would be very stupid to take on two huge contracts.

Cool just wondering if other people were on the same page as me. Sorokin and Walhstrom aren't worth taking on that Ladd contract.

Hard pass from the islanders. Sorokin is our future #1 goalie and he’s coming after this season. Teams win when they have productive players on their ELC. I’d rather have wahlstrom at 925 k for the next 3 years than pay a 29 year old 11 million.

I don’t think NJD + NYI make good trade partners. Devils will want wahlstrom or Dobson and I wouldn’t give either of them up for hall even with an extension

Isles cannot do this, even moving Boychuck's salary they cannot afford to pay Hall, with also having to extend Barzal, Pulock, and Toews.
