I don't see Edmonton doing that. Smith has a higher cap hit than Gagner, and at this point I think Edmonton would be more comfortable with Gagner (they need bottom six guys), than Smith. As far as Puljujarvi for Howden, I think that is pretty close.
Small sample size, but you could probably get more for Strome. If the Florida offer you have there was the best they could get, they should keep him, more value to the team. I don't think they should trade him at all, finally starting to find his game and is at a point per game (also RFA at the end of the year).
I think that Kreider deal is decent, but Canucks (while I am sure would like to add another forward), don't really have the cap space for it. Additionally, they already dont have a 1st rounder this year (assuming they make the playoffs), I would doubt that they trade their second. They likely just leave it to the team to show everyone wat they can do this year.
Don't touch Kovalchuk with a ten foot pole. Also, it makes little sense for a team trying to get younger to trade for a guy on his way out of the league, making 6.25 on the cap this year and next year. Not worth the roster spot really.
