Hall will be getting at least $11M. He's on par with Panarin. And as other pointed out Schultz will need at least $6M because he'll get that in UFA.

That isn't going to happen. I for one am ok with it. Part of improving this team is improving the back end. Marino is a much better player.
He will help stabilize the top 4.
My guess is the target is TVR on the 3RD, or they or going to go get a NCAA free agent.

We need to be honest about it, Schultz is the weakest link on the RD, and he's not very good in the defensive zone. He's never been that great there.
Shedding that contract and bringing in a more defensively stable player on the 3rd pairing while Marino moves up improves the team.
