that was definitely an interference penalty on rikola at then end of the 3rd but the pens outplayed isles badly the entire period. I hope isles pens meet again in rd 1 of the playoffs.

I feel like they’ll do something to get him a few games sooner rather than later but I really wanted them to bring up Adam Johnson over Lafferty simply because Lafferty could still be getting consistent minutes in Wilkes rather than sitting at the NHL level.

you knew there had to be changes. I had a ACGM on here not long ago putting Lafferty on Malkins wing. Something had to be done. It wasn't working. He needs guys who are hungry, fast, and defensively responsible on the ice with him. McCann was a good choice there. Malkin, Rust, McCann is one fast line, plays north south, pushes the defense back on it's heals.
Frankly I think they should put Tanev up on Crosby's line and let that line run with the same kind of speed.
Half the league is running imbalanced lines. Top heavy works. You have to keep pace. Simon is not a top line player. Just a guy with good corsi numbers. He can't score. He couldn't hit the next if it was 10 feet wider. And that's the problem there.

No way, if anything ZAR sits. Simon brings too much to whatever line he is on. Just cuz he got moved from sid to bjugs line doesnt mean sully thinks he is playing bad, it was to shake up lines to get something going. Guentzal and Crosby have been just as quiet as Simon on the score sheet as of late. I dont see any reason to bring lafferty in rn, this team is playing great as is. Hes prob here in case someone gets injured on a road trip so we dont have to run a D as F again

He can't finish. My god that pass Crosby gave in in the middle of the ice at a an unexpected goalie, you have to hit that. He missed a wide open net later. You are only going to get so many chances.
He's had the same problem for 2 years now. He can't finish. Hence he's not a real weapon out there. I don't think they replace ZAR because he's so important defensively. That's the line they stick out there to shut teams down and it works. He also is really good on the PK. He too also has offensive upside. He isn't the best at hitting the net, but he's creating his own chances down there not having Crosby create them for him.

At some point you have to admit he's not an elite level player. He's a middle of the road guy. He doesn't have high end speed, he lacks a great shot. The reason I think lafferty makes it up there is purely based on his speed and he's shown an ability to finish. They have to see what they have there. If it works out better you roll with it. If not, you can go back. But at some point they have to see.

Let me just put it for you this way.
He's taken 47 shots. He's scored 2 goals. It's like shooting 5% a little less, not going to do the math.
You can't have guys shooting 5% on your top line. You just can't.
