If the Bruins get Toffoli, then we might as well give them the cup.

Toffoli had a down year last year but LA was awful. Maybe a change of scenery would re-ignite him? I would take the chance. Seems like a perfect fit on Krejci's wing.

Toffoli is a great player, everyone knows that. He would thrive with the Bruins no doubt.

Here’s the problem. LA already has 49 players under contract. This would put them at 50 which limits what they can do elsewhere. On top of which it relies on Backes being put on LTIR, which is ideal but unlikely. I’m not buying the concussion protocol story after the Sabourin hit. I think it’s an excuse to give him some time to clear his head as he was visibly shaken. With his history if he was in protocol again we’d be talking retirement.

Secondly the 2nd is a good starting point but the other 2 are of little use to them and they could get more.

Bite the bullet Grizz a 2nd and Cehlarik for Toffoli and Austin Strand. Can add Miller too or replace Cehlarik with him.

Going to lose Grizz in the expansion draft anyway. I’d like a longer term return for him but this is the upgrade they have needed for 3 years.

Of course this is predicated on signing Krug.

Lastly i have heard rumors of Alex Tuch being available for defensive help. Honestly i doubt this rumor. However it is worth pursuing. I’d imagine they’d insist on Carlo and B’s can’t do it. Grizz/Miller/1st/JFK is what i’d offer. Doubt it works but i’d try.

Another long term option is Jack Roslovic from Jets. He has not been rumored to be on the market but he is playing 3rd line there and they are in desperate need of defenseman.

He is a rental so this is fair enough, and chances are they will have to send Kuhlman down (love him, but he's been the least productive and could probably benefit from one more AHL half-year. In saying that, Assuming someone will be "hurt" each game (be it an actual injury or day-to-day), Ritchie will sub in against bigger tougher teams and Par will enter against faster flashier teams

Matt Grzelcyk isn't being traded for a rental named Toffoli.

He’s a 3rd pair d man that will be lost in the expansion draft. Be dumb to not upgrade where needed to try to hold on to him. Especially when there are 3 guys in the A ready to take his place.

Like i said. Rather get a long term asset for him.

B’s are over the cap with the contracts they have. Unless they can waive a magic wand and make Backes go away or on LTIR they will have to move multiple contracts to bring in Toffoli. Moore and Cehlarik are not going to move the needle for LA. 2nd and a prospect is what it will take. Then you have to move Moore and Miller. Even then it is cutting it close.
