Description
Lines: Guentzel-Crosby-Simon, you don't split up Guentzel-Crosby, and Simon has been a really good possession winger to pair with them
ZAR-Geno-Goose, pair Malkin with one defensively responsible winger who can also score, and another who is more of a pure two way winger, could be ZAR or Tanev
Kahun-McCann-Tanev, Kahun and McCann have looked good with Bjugs, and McCann looked good at center, I don't think Tanev will mess that chemistry up
Johnson-Blueger-Lafferty, SPEEEEEEDDDD, you can also throw Tanev on this line if needed
Dumo-Tanger, you don't break this pair up... Unless someone gets hurt
MP-Weegar, both very solid in their own zone, with decent puck moving offensive abilities, I would LOVE this pair
Riikola-Marino, was amazing vs Dallas, they deserve a shot
Murray-he's solid, top 10-12 starter in the league
Jarry-i was high on this kid, and he's been spectacular this year, better than I thought

1.
PIT
  1. Kemp, Philip [Liste de réserve]
  2. Choix de 3e ronde en 2020 (EDM)
Détails additionnels:
PIT gets a decent pick, cap space, and another smart (Kemp goes to Yale, Marino went to Harvard) RD from EDM, he's more of just a throw in though
EDM
  1. Bjugstad, Nick
Détails additionnels:
Trade made at 2020 draft, EDM makes playoffs, and is looking to build upon their roster for next year, getting a big guy who can play 3C or 2RW
2.
PIT
  1. Stastney, Spencer [Liste de réserve]
  2. Choix de 5e ronde en 2021 (NSH)
Détails additionnels:
PIT gets a Nashville special, a relatively unheralded d man who transitioned from forward, spent most of last year working on the defensive side of his have, got that up to the point that UND put him out to close out a close game in the final minutes... As a freshman, this year regains his offensive touch and is scoring at a PPG pace (though ik UND hasn't played the most challenging schedule, ik they played lake Superior State a few weeks ago...) Pick is just there bc ik PIT fans get triggered if you undersell Hornqvist, I wouldn't need it
NSH
  1. Hörnqvist, Patric (300 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
NSH gets the PP help they need (there's is still near the bottom this year iirc) and Horny probably waives for his former team
3.
PIT
  1. Nyquist, Gustav
Détails additionnels:
PIT gets a really good winger who is solid at both ends of the ice to play with Geno, and on a very reasonable deal
CBJ
  1. Poulin, Samuel
  2. Rust, Bryan
Détails additionnels:
CBJ accepts the tank, moves out their free agent consolation prize winger for a former first round pick, and player they can probably flip for a third, might have to add a conditional pick here, depends on how CBJ sees Poulin
4.
PIT
  1. Weegar, MacKenzie [Droits de RFA]
Détails additionnels:
PIT gets my favorite RD target in the league, yes Ik FLA would rather move Pysyk, but I really really really really really want Weegar lol
FLA
  1. Bellerive, Jordy
  2. DeSmith, Casey
  3. Choix de 2e ronde en 2021 (PIT)
Détails additionnels:
FLA gets an upgraded backup over Montembault at a reasonable price, good pick, and ok spec , I would totally be willing to add more lol
5.
PIT
ANA
  1. Björkqvist, Kasper
  2. Johnson, Jack
Détails additionnels:
Pure cap dump if GMJR wants, any team, but ik PIT and ANA have to make at least one pointless depth trade per year, and before everyone REEEs about the fact that it will definitely take 7 first round picks, Hallander, Crosby and we'll have to take back Seabrook to move JJ I will calmly point out the facts that his contract isn't that bad. If buried JJ will cost a total of 6.6 mil, TOTAL, that's 350k more than Marleau, but it's split over THERE years, making it much easier to manage, plus a first was considered an overpay to move Marleau, and if we're talking cap hit% JJ's is much lower than Marleau's, if we go on the low end of estimates, 83, 88, 90 over the duration of his contract, JJ's 2.2/yr=2.65% yr 1, 2.5 yr 2, 2.4 yr 3 for a total of 7.55% over 3 years, Marleau's was 7.6 over 1 yr, which is much harder to manage, the 2.2 in the last two years likely barely affects the team, or they could move him to Seattle for the cost of like a third or smth, a better way of explaining it is over the next 3 years (the duration of his contract) he is owed 6.6 mil, in that time, the team gets 261 mil to spend... That's enough for almost two teams of JJs... Plus in this situation PIT doesn't need to move JJ, and in the Marleau one, TOR had to move Marleau to sign everyone

Finally someone who values Weegar as much as me.

I am a flyers fan, so beware: I also don't watch pens games for that obvious reason...

- Is murray that cheap?
- is pettersson that expensive?

That middle six looks quite weak to me, especially considering you have Simon on the top line. I feel like someone else should be in Aston-Reese's spot with that 8M.

ok where to start. well I don't believe you watch the pens if you trust ZAR on 2nd line, and we might as well stay on the second line with that disgraceful trade for nyquist. A first round pick who is currently tearing it up in the Q. Whats the point of 8 mil cap space?

I remember watching Kemp play for the U.S at the World Juniors and he looked pretty solid, might turn into a player yet, if some team could get him as a "throw in" he'd be worth taking a flyer on.

I have watched Nikita play probably 35 games at Penn St.
I really like him as a player there. He's big, physical, has a mean streak. He's hard to play against, makes smart decisions with the puck. Can start a break out with his passes and he has a very heavy slap shot.
He's very responsible in his own end. For a big guy he's also pretty nimble.

But here is the thing. While he has decent speed once he gets moving, he's still on the slower end and he has very little acceleration.
I use to think Pav had a chance to come in and play 4C for the penguins.
I think I was clearly wrong about that at this point. That game is much too fast now.
But that's ok, because I don't think the penguins are grooming him to play forward.
Pav is going to end up being the Penguins Burns/Chara player.
Burns started on the wing and turned into a defenseman, one who actually took faceoffs occasionally.
I see the same thing happening here with Pav.
He's nimble enough on his skates to walk a blue line. He's got decent feet. But he's never going to win a footrace going 200 feet.
Look for the penguins to turn him into a stay at home defenseman if they are going to get him on the roster.
It's the right move to make with him. You won't have to worry about him being fast enough to contribute in the offensive end and still get back to help on defense.
He's got the decision making of a center so he can read the ice find the pass and then occasionally jump into the play with that huge shot that no one is going to want to stand in front of.
He's extremely tall, 6'7-6'8 and will use a very long stick to help him in the defensive zone. He's build like a tank and has the size to seriously clear the net. Not many players are going to be willing to give a guy who is 6'8 250lbs crap on the ice.
It's going to take a year or two to groom him. But I think this is the direction the penguins will be going.

Simon has been on the top line, and he's been good, the Murray contract cold range anywhere from like 6-8.5 imo, but he hasn't been spectacular this year, so I went with the lower range, and Pettersson is a solid top 4 d man, plus he took a steal of a deal for this year, and I'd bet that comes up in negotiations this year, plus that third line has all gotten a lot of top 6 time (thanks to injuries) this year

"Tearing it up in the Q", the highest scoring of the 3 Junior leagues, and he's been worse than a lot of other late first/early seconds that are in those other leagues, and he had an 8 point night to boost his stats, take that out he's got 20 points in 15 games putting him around guys like Nikita Alexandrov and Maxime Trepanier... And Nyquist is a winger that isn't bad I'm his own zone (which was basically a must for me when looking for someone to pair with Malkin) and he can also get 60+ points, maybe even 70 on PIT, and ZAR was there, as a similar skill level player to Tanev, but imo has slightly higher offensive ability, but less speed/physicality, depends on what you want between the two, and the reason I stayed away from FA is GMJR does not have a good history going after "big fish FAs" I'd rather him just stick to the phones lol
