More accurate team for next year

Description
Please leave feedback... I have compiled most of the rational things I have read and seen on here so there is nothing completely out of wack lol

ALSO: Chara is benched because I think they will rotate him and Urho/Grizz in and out of the lineup (or Clifton at RHD) ... the idea is that they aren't sitting Chara, but like Backes he might need a game off out of every 2 or 3 close games so they will probably cycle those bottom 4 to get everyone in...
They will likely not sign anyone new either. Their needs rn are 2nd line RW but Kuhlman has been working well with Krejci and Debrusk. 3rd line center can easily become Studnicka next year (or Krejci if stud overshadows him)... and Keyser will be able to step into backup goalie because Halak is gonna want upwards of 4 million based on his play

Detroit passes. I'm sorry but Moore isn't worth a 3rd at least not to Detroit. Detroit has some decent D prospects ready to come up around the end of this season and next season and 4yrs of Moore doesn't help that at all.

he's on pace for 10 goals this year. Looks pretty fair so far to me. Hell maybe even too much.
Just because a player had one good year doesn't mean he's worth a huge contract. It's all about consistency.

I don't see why he bothered to resign Chara. He's a pylon. Come the playoffs it's dump it in on Chara's side. Blow past him because he's too slow to get to the puck. Then make him look silly like a statue and make a play with the puck. They are better not pretending on that situation. Just let it go.
Krug is another I wouldn't resign.

This team needs to go out and build a 2nd line that can score. Because for the past 3 years it's been the same story. Like 60+% of the offense from 1 line.

Aight its really any team, that's my B, but he's a solid top 6 to top 4 dman who is on a long term cheap deal so not a bad deal

I like him and as a bruins fan I want him to be worth more (But cost less obviously) ... but looking realistically, people have seen him drop to a solid top 6 forward, but not an elite forward, especially with how he has played so streaky in the past. We are both big bruins fans, but gotta also look from an outside pov

Does Krug resign before free agency? There are teams who would happily pay more than that for him.

He isn't nearly as much a pylon as Backes or Dion Phaneuf was, and its a matter of respect and leadership at this point,... They will probably sign him until he retires

Its always possible he goes elsewhere for more money, but theoretically he could end up in Boston for a discount because of how well liked he is an how well they treat him... but also Detroit cuz of a hometown boy...

He’s on pace for? Seriously? Do you know what month it is?

John Carlson is on pace for 148 points. Are you ready to name him the best d man of all time?

What are you talking about? People? What people? Because of 8 games? He popped 27 in 66 or something last year as a second year player. That gets paid. The AAV isn’t absurd, but you have to remember that term matters. Term always matters. That isn’t getting him for 7 freaking years.

two years ago he played 70 games and had 16 goals.
Lets not pretend he's shown himself to be a consistent goal scorer.
If you bothered to read I said, so far.....it could change. But right now, he's not shown that it should.

Look around the league. Guys don’t sign long term with the kind of resume debrusk has. It’s not a thing.

Exactly what does that mean?
He's not good enough to sign LTD. Or he's too good to sign one. Because I've seen a lot of players sign 5+ year deals lately, which is fairly long term.

You are way to bent out of shape for a player that is inconsistent. Let him actually prove what he can do on the ice.
There are tons of players that have 1 year and then they fade away to nothing. Why be blinded into that.

For some reason people talk around here like AAV is independent of term. Well, it definitely isn’t. Would Debrusk sign for 5.25? Sure! Not for 7 years though. 3 years and that’s a good deal for both sides. Maybe too much actually. Would Debrusk sign for 7 years? Absolutely! Not for 5.25 though.

the point is more looking at the term and average.
The guy is on pace for 10 goals this year. Two years ago he had 16. Inbetween he had on good year of 27. Now if he reverts his play back to year 1 level. You are looking at a 3 million contract over 3 years, not 5.25. That just doesn't add up. So yeah the 5.25 for 7 makes sense. Would he sign that, probably not. He'd probably want to vet on himself. Sign a 1 or 2 year deal and see where it goes. But that also involves risk and maybe he takes what he can get.
Either way trying to estimate value on a guy who could have very well had a fluke season isn't really worth it. Let him play and see where he goes. But what you don't do is hand a guy a pile of money after 1 good season. There are too many 1 year wonders out there to do that.

As a Detroit fan I would like that but everyone said that about Trouba. If Boston wins the cup I can see him going to highest bidder. If Boston gets close again like last year I could see him signing a 1 or 2 year deal below what he could get on the open market because Boston gives him the best chance to win a cup.

A 1-2 year bridge would make sense (for both the team and the player) if he only gets those 10 goals this year. A 7 year deal puts him at what age 30 when it ends? That limits the earning potential of his next contract. His agent should be fired if he took that 7 year deal. UFAs (or RFA on their last year) want the long term deals. RFA's want the get to the UFA (or year before) status; which is when they'll get the big money deal.

The Coyle contract is the interesting one for me. He has a history of great play for 20-30 games then he'll completely disappear for 20-30 games. He had a great Playoffs last year, so Bos should wait on signing him until if/when he goes into invisible mode this year.

Dude come on, we have gotten along over the past few weeks, but this is what im talking about. @pharrow is entirely correct and saying in long terms what I said. This person has always made logical posts on these forums, and me and them should be respected and listened to as such... You have your opinion and we have ours, but ultimately it is important to listen to each others ...

Not a word of it was correct. That’s not true I suppose. Debrusk is on pace for whatever. That said, if discussing a contract, using a sample size of 10% of the season to talk about pace is just an absolutely absurd premise.
