Why is Eberle scratched?

Sheesh, I dont follow the Isles much but I definitely feel your concerns man. I'm curious about where you'd put Wahsltrom, Dobson on your lineup, and is Eberle scratched or injured?

He’s injured and wahlstrom got called up - but it looks like wahlstrom will stay with the team because he’s been the Islanders best forward other than barzal

I would put wahlstrom with bailey and Nelson on the 2nd line or with barzal on the 1st line.

Eberle rw1 or rw2, Dobson paired with leddy

Dobson isn’t going back to juniors, Barry has made that pretty clear and waiving hickey all but assured that. They think it’s bad for his development. Barry is superstitious and doesn’t change the lineup after wins and the islanders are on a 3 game win streak.

I know it’s a small sample size, but among 194 NHL dman with 30+ 5 v 5 minutes , Dobson is :

8th for CF rel%
1st xGA/60 rel
1st XGF rel
1st HDCA/60 rel

The islanders have been a much better team with him on the ice. It’s frustrating that they play a 35 year old because of his intangibles

And what are your thoughts on Varly and do you think Boychuk will ever be bought out?

Varlamov was the only reason the islanders beat the jets on Thursday - he had a rough first two games but he’s been solid as of late.

Boychuk will never be bought out because the way his contract is structured the islanders would save very little. His last two years have signing bonuses. He will end up being the 7D or maybe traded to another team. Obviously the islanders would have to give a 1st rd pick for that to happen

So you’d rather the Islanders lose and be right then suffer through an Islanders victory and be wrong ?

I suggest re-examining your life

It has nothing to do with being right - Noah Dobson is the future #1 D on this team and needs to be playing, not sitting in the press box for 3 straight games.

If the islanders lose, Noah Dobson likely gets back in the lineup.

So are you curled up crying in the basement because Brock won the game in overtime ?
