Honestly I would do this.
Not the line up as is, but the trades.

I think it makes a lot of sense considering the log jam at forward and how many defense men are on the team.
Maybe they can flip Hainsey afterwards.

Hainsey is unrestricted after this year, clears the way for Almari/POJ/Riikola to win that spot.

I think my issue with keeping Hainsey is he's playing his off side and then you got issues cross ice passes on the backhand.
If I'm going to play that way I'd rather go Dumo/Letand MP/Schultz Marino/Guddy not sure which one here plays the off side.
But it makes more sense.

Teams not going to have the luxury of time forever. People will come back from IR. They are going to have to make choices then.
I'm hoping they can make a move soon. One needs to be made.

You as a penguins fan would do this clearly one sided deal? Makes sense

It’s going to take more than a guy with 38 career points at the youthful age of 24 to dump JJ. My words are wasted on penguin fans. You want to hand teams a dollar and get 5 back

This is not even close to realistic. You need way more than a bottom 6 forward and a 4th to get rid of Johnson. Hainsey isn't worth $3.5M but he's still serviceable for 1 more year.

Estimated cap spending next year: $35,649,167
Look at all those names not coming back to Ottawa for one reason or another.
Hell they will lose 10 million on LTIR alone. We all know how they used that to avoid paying anything.
Then you got half the defense out the door.

Not only are they going to need defensive help, but help reaching the floor.
I mean hell this is a team that took on a guy with a 36.1% corsi for 4.5 million and you think this isn't possible.
Please

Bottom 6 F who most people said was going to be one of the best wingers Crosby or Malkin have had in a while...

Almost 40 points in his FIRST season in NA... Yes there is an adjustment period for everyone, learning all new systems 2 years in a row, I wouldn't have been stunned if he had adjusted quicker to the pens system to see him hit 50-60 points this year

JJ isn’t defensive help he’s a terrible hockey player and if you want to dump him you’ll need to pay the appropriate price. This isn’t nhl20 easy mode. Send JJ to the send will cost you one of your top prospect and a 2nd. Or a 1st and a lesser prospect.

Also Hainsey will get a late pick at the deadline. He has positive value unlike JJ.

He has 38 points in 87 games. He’s also 24 years old. Idc how you try to spin it. He’s doesn’t have the same value as a 18-19 year old prospect... we both know it

look caps troll
1st Hainsey won't be getting anything at trade deadline. He's done. He's 38 slow as hell and has no business on the ice anymore.
But if you think that gets a late round pick than JJ himself would return a mid round pick given how well he's played this year.
But troll on. We know you hate the penguins.

Don’t hate the penguins. I assume you are 10 years old and frequently play fortnight bc you think I’m trolling you? JJ is t a rental and he’s going to cost you a lot to dump. I honestly have nothing else to say to you.i lose brain cells every time I read your responses

yeah a guy who's played 5 games this season and only given up 2 goals while on the ice is somehow a cap dump.
And we aren't exactly talking about a team that is playing well here.
There are a lot of teams that could use help on the blue line. In case you haven't noticed there is no help out there.
Go ask Ottawa how theirs is doing. Or ask how that Hutton signing is doing. Or many other reaches this past off season.
At least JJ is an NHL level player. But go on, keep trolling. And yes, you do in fact hate the penguins.
