Watching the flaMes game and they look like they need a goalie really bad. Samsonov looks great. Drastic blah blah blah but maybe this works out great.

In order for CGY to afford this you probably need to take Talbot in the exchange. Possibly even more.

Is he on a 1 year deal? Capitals can also eat some money I guess .. for a higher price. Flames look like they need a legit #1 goalie.

Yeah I agree. And yes, Talbot's on a one year deal.

CGY might want to move Frolik, although I'm not 100% on that.

Calgary has $150,000 in cap space. They can't take on $6.1M cap hit while moving nothing out. Even if the Caps retained 50% on Holtby and took Talbot as part of the return, it still wouldn't work cap-wise for Calgary.

Going with your trade as a base, it would end up needing to me more like: Dubé, 1st, 3rd, cond 2nd, Talbot, Frolik (w/ $950K retained) for Holtby. (cap hits going each way are equal)

I was going more for value than making it work but caps could retain take Talbot and flames could waive frolik
