There is a roster limit. It's just a bunch of stuff for the Wild players, nothing that really helps them now or in the future.

I just watched the first period vs Boston and I am not sure I can blame just the players any longer. The spacing is horrible, and bringing it out of our zone is a waste of time. We are just passing to the opposition. I know it is early in the year and I was optimistic after the Edmonton game, but you can already see we have the same problems. I think this change might help, but as much as I hate to say it we might need to look for a new coach soon. Oh and last thought, I don't know that much about Zucker, but unless he can play a strong game, not get pushed off the puck, he would be a waste on this team.
ok I am done ranting.

This. I don't think the Wild need to make any trades with players that teams would actually want for a bunch of lesser players. They have lesser players, they need to be the team trading a few depth guys for a better player somehow.

To get better players, you need to trade lesser players with assets (draft picks and prospects.

MIN should do the absolute opposite. That team is going nowhere. Rebuilt by taking a step back and pilling rookies.

MTL counter offer with Byron, Kulak, Joni Ikonen and 2 x 2nd round picks in 2020 (MTL +CHI)

I'm fine with getting younger players for older ones but they need to be good young players in positions of need. LW and d-men the Wild have enough of in the NHL and their prospect pool. This trade has nothing but redundant players for the Wild.

Unless a 1st, Poehling, or Juulsen are on the table there is nothing to talk about from MTL.

You overpassed Ikonen here. Pretty sure the Wild need an offence center prospect. Byron and Kulak are included to make it work salary and roster wise (that zucker contract is baaad). Wild still need to put a team on the ice after all, while saving money in the process... Byron is also Assistant captain, so a good veteran for young players.

I would go for Byron, Juulsen, Ikonen and 2x2nd ... and laugh at you. He is a good prospect but has a career theathening injury right now...

No interest in Ikonen, a small offensive center from Finland; we just got done watching that movie with Granlund. No interest in Byron, Wild already have enough "vet leadership", LHS FWDs, and midgets.

Zucker's contract isn't great, and I'm not a fan of his; but it's not the one the Wild need to dump to save money. Spurgeon (when it kicks in next year), Parise, Suter, Zucc, and Rask are the ones that need to go before Zucker to save money.

Trading those contracts without taking back similar salaries is a fantasy. You know it is year 1 of Zuccarello right?
