What... Trading a first line winger for a third goalie... Ik this is probably Miller's last year, but still, you can easily find a backup in FA or something, trading a still productive 2C to a team that has 0 need for another 2C, and only getting a 7th d man back... Henrique's contract isn't that bad, especially 50% retained, that's a great deal for him then you're trading two good 4th liners (that have looked really good so far this season) for a 5th... I mean they probably don't have much more value, but still... Why... Plus the isles need top end talent, not more bottom 6ers, Kessler and Eaves are both done for at least the year, Rakell and Silf will be centered by Lundestrom or (more likely) Steel, Sprong and Steel are not 4th liners, and having Guhle Larsson and Comtois scratched is EDM approved best way to ruin your high end prospects development, plus Lindholm is a top 10 LD in the league,>>>>>>>Fowler, who will be the 2RD this year

All of theses were just for the team to sell, they aren't making the playoffs this year unless John Gibson goes Carey Price mode and transcends into another dimension as he plays like a god. They need to start selling but keep their young players (maybe sell a few for great picks) because they need to build a future that could come soon so they don't waste Gibson's, Manson's, Rakell's, etc. careers.

So you sell a 24ish year old for basically nothing

I’ll say it again. You traded Kase for a number 3 goalie. That’s not rebuilding. That’s sabotage.

For someone who proclaims they are a "hockeyfan" trading Kase for DeSmith isn't a great trade for the Ducks. They have Dostal who could be the back up goalie in 2-3 years, they also have Boyle and Stolarz. I wouldn't be worried about goaltending at all.

Then you go a cap dump Rico for a 7th damn.....Jesus... Terry is also playing wing and not center. I think you're more of a troll than a fan of the sport.

So you traded a 23 y/o Top-9 Winger for a 28 y/o AHL goalie
And a 29 y/o middle-6 center for a 27 y/o 7th D

How do those trades make ANA younger?...or better?
.
.
.
Also, those lines are a hot mess

Why do they "need" to sell? So what if they aren't going to make the playoffs this year (they might if they stay healthy), they're not in a full-on rebuild mode contrary to popular opinion. This team is already full of talented young players, a bunch more are developing in San Diego, they had a good haul this last draft and have all the picks that matter in the next. Not to mention some their core players are locked up long-term. If anything if they're out of it by the deadline guys on expiring contracts can get flipped for a few more picks but what you're suggesting would make them a lot worse this year for no good reason. Never mind the fact that Kase is way more valuable than a dime-a-dozen goalie.
