Way too much to give up for KK. He’s good but he’s not that good. You could get him for much much less.....CM just got player of the week in the OHL. Now that’s not anything to write home about but it’s a good start to a promising career.

I love MM but KK is the real deal. He's the next Panarin, maybe even better.

Haha 11.6 m is absolutely insane. And I do t trust that khl to nhl swap. Caps got that dude last year that was suppose to be good then penguins were going after Panarin and ended up getting the guy who was slightly worse. Both guys were awful. Now he could be amazing but I’m not risky CM who is gojng to be a stud. He might actually be better

I realize in making this now it might be a slight overpayment but Mostly because Im buying into the hype. Not really meant to be a serious post more of a fun idea, but I'd imagine he would cost somewhere around a 1st and A prospect and roster player at the most.

Maybe. To say whether it's a difference in talent or just a language barrier, we'd have to look at the average KHL output of North American guys who show up at the last minute without learning Russian first. That sounds like a lot of work. Luckily, I don't have to look anything up to agree with your initial point that the chance to play Kaprizoff on a line with Backstrom and Vrana, who don't speak much Russian that I'm aware of, is not worth Connor McMichael, whose English seems pretty solid, and who definitely knows how to play on an 80-foot rink.

But I can also see that Kaprizoff is off to a good start this year, and is worth more than a 3rd round pick. I think between outperforming the expectations of his draft position and not having signed an ELC yet at 22 his perceived ceiling is up a lot, but the chance he comes to America is down a little, so his trade value right now is about a 2nd pick. Or maybe Leipsic and a 3rd. Wouldn't see any problem with either if they see a roster spot for the guy next year, or even just as depth in the press box and on the practice squad for this year's playoffs, as he begins to adjust to a different language and style of play.
