Don't mind the trade but this seems like there has to be another move to be made. Does this make Petro or Parayko expendable? Do they move Petro in the last year of his deal? Bring back a kings ransom for Parayko? Bortuzzo is a good 3rd pairing RH d-man so this seems like a overload on the right side and weak on the left...

I wonder if this means petriangelo won’t be re-signed - his new contract will start in his age 31 season and he probably wants 8 year term. Maybe it’s best to move on from him.

I dont really get this deal for STL to be honest. They re-sign Faulk, but next year they need to re-up Pieterangelo, Dunn and maybe JayBo.
Plus I though Edmunson fit well in STL

Theyre going younger. Gonna trade Pietrangelo, re-sign Schenn, Bouwmeester retires or gone.

Wouldnt you want to use the Faulk money to re-up Pietrangelo?

Hes gonna be 30 and will likely command 8 +, Faulk is 27. I wonder if Tampa would consider a Sergachev + for Pietrangelo with extension.

There's not enough ice time to go around to keep all three of those RHD happy...next summer will be interesting for STL (unless one of them moves to the left side as others noted)

Yeah this makes sense assuming Petro wants a maxed out 7-8 year deal and is going to get 9 mil minimum.

For me, this comes under the heading "Why Fix What Ain't Broke?" I guess the idea is to put Faulk on the left opposite one of your two All-Stars in place of Bouwmeester.

But I wager to say that if Doug Armstrong had disappeared yesterday, it wouldn't occur to any one of the other 30 GM's that might replace him to fiddle with that defense.

the PP is broke, Faulk is one of the best PP qbs in the league.
