WPG spirals into the bottom of the standings without byfuglien, trouba, myers, and connor and laine without contracts. Wheeler gets on the market to finish them. And they get a defence in gudbranson to cover part of the hole on defense, whos at least serviceable during their next rebuild.

Gudbranson is not a selling point lmfao he’s a cap dump for your team and now Winnipeg’s.
Bjugstad is over paid which hurts his value.

So 2 cap dumps

So you really traded a prospect and a 1st for a premier player, who yes has a scary contract but still premier currently

And a 2nd* along with the 1st and top prospect* and bjugstad is decent enough. Gudbranson is overpaid but hes not horrible. And Wpg wont need wheeler since their glory days are gone.

Detroit want nothing to do with JJ. Yzerman brought Filppula back for a reason and it wasn't to trade him to Pittsburgh.

You have 4 goalies on your roster better than DeSmith who is the oldest. Hallander has some promise but Detroit needs D prospects. So switch DeSmith with Larmi then switch Hallander with Addison then Detroit answers the phone.

Addison is too good to be swapped with filppula in apackage deal like that probably on his own too

I agree but it isn't that much more ridiculous than your fist offer. Look at the Wings roster they have 14 RFAs and 4 UFAs with contracts expiring at the end of the season. So I don't see them bringing in any players to make that harder to accomplish. At this point in a rebuild a team usually has cap to do this but Holland signed 3rd line players for 1st and 2nd line money and most of them have NTCs. We currently have 2 unmovable D 30 or over 3 if you count Green but in a pinch i can see him being moved but the return wouldn't be great. Now all of their contracts and its doubtful any get resigned. The Wings did finish somewhat strong at the end of the season and all the 30+ players were given an early start to the summer. Now that's 2 very good reasons for Detroit not to take on JJ the 3rd is Yzerman was unwilling to take on any cap dumps where the player is in the final year of his contract.

Yzerman has reached out to AA and wants to move him to wing because he wants to lessen his defensive responsibilities and open him up to score more goals. Since Hirose and AA really had some chemistry plus Hirose could keep up with him. So that leaves a center and the reason Yzerman signed Filppula. Who plays a disciplined defensively responsible game and it makes sense to use him when you've told a player not to worry about D and score as much as possible. He even said after Sundays game goal scoring is a real problem for the Wings for quite a while now.
