Another contract like McAvoy's last year is 7.5 Million so that's what the tendered offer will be to quality him.

I don't understand why Vancouver would do a bridge though, they aren't contending. Might as well lock him up early so it's a favorable contract when they are contending.

Wow and the qualifying offer will be at most 7.5-7.6 (50% rule)

The AAV is fine although i am not a huge fan of the last year salary bit. I think he plays up to that either way.

Can I just say how ****ing inflated everything is when this massive bridge is considered a good deal?

I would rather him be locked up at 6 or 7 years at 7.5 Million, Vancouver ****ed themselves up by signing veteran's to higher contracts and now are going to pay long term for it.

Not bad. After seeing the AAV I definitely thought it would only be for one or two years.

they don't have the cap space for (signing him to an LT deal)

just like McAvoy and the Bruins otherwise it would have been a long-term deal

So many teams even poor teams are at the cap that they can't afford to long term deals. Is Myers at 6m and Elder at 6.5m really needed if it prevents signing Boesner long term (yes I realize Boesner might have wanted just a bridge).

With the trend of low AAVs with a high QOs on these bridge deals, it's gonna be really interesting to see the negotiations and contract amounts given when these contracts are up.

This HAS to set the market for the remaining RFA’s now. For example for the Jets there’s no way Laine or Connor can get more then 6 million a year tops for a 2-3 year bridge deal

Just need to bury 3 overpaid bums like Lazi Loui and Sutter in the minor. They have a 26 man roster right now.

Like Mitch 94 points, 10.893M oh wait...... bad math
Auston should have been 10.5 for 2 injury plagued seasons
Mitch should have been 9.5....Tavares has helped over pay his wingers, there are several
that croaked without him
And WNylander should have been 6.25

Poor contract for VAN. They needed to lock him up for 8 years before he explodes for 40+G...especially on a line w/ Pettersson. This 3 year bridge will haunt them down the road.

Solid signing and the length seems to work for both the team and the player. The contract will expire at the same time as Eriksson's contract will be off the books (baring a buyout), Luongo's recapture will be over, and the new TV deal and the addition of Seattle should see the cap jump. The only concern will be Petterssons and Hughes deals in the year prior to those falling off the books.

Add to that that the salary in the last year guarantees him at least 7.5M in the year following the contracts expiry.

So much for the "TML just screwed over every other team with Marner's contract" theory.

Yeah, they would have needed more than 7,5 to buy his ufa years.
