Looking at the situation with Avs and Mikko - does anyone know if Mikko is eligible for and had a question:

Is Mikko eligible to do what Mccavoy did? Sign for 3 years - and be an RFA eligible for Arbitration?

I feel this may be an option to look at for Avs. Mikko is a great player but he definitely gets a boost being on a line with Mackinnon. Hate to pay him 9+ million if his production drops to 65-75 points in a second line role with Kadri as his center. a 3 year contract gives Avs a unique position of not having to deal signing multiple key players in an offseason. Makar and Landy due in 2 years - Mackinnon in 4 years. 3 years is a sweet spot.

He signed his ELC sign away so he just needs 4 seasons to be arbitration eligible. He played 3 seasons already so i think a 3 year term would make him an RFA with arbitration rights
