The NHLPA has decided not use its option to reopen the CBA. The current agreement now runs through Sept. 15, 2022.

As a Devils fan, I think I understand the pain and frustration of a work stoppage pretty well. The 2004 lockout robbed the team of a terrific chance at a 3rd Cup in 6 years. In 2012-13, they were coming off a trip to the Cup Finals and the time off really hurt their momentum. Also, Kovalchuk left the organization during the lockout to play in Russia, setting in motion a 5 year playoff drought. And Parise would eventually leave as a UFA.
So, this is great news, just as the Devils are finally trending in the right direction. No more lockouts, please!
