I think 1 for 1 this is a fair trade. The Flames love Tkachuk and this is the only way they move him, I also think they wouldn't wanna include Dube as they have a weak farm and he is far and away their best prospect aside from the injured Valimaki

Think the trade is fair value wise but no way is Tkachuk gonna sign at 5.5. More like 7-8 million.

IMO Point have more value than Tkachuk
CGY gets a top6 RW too

Point probably does have more value in theory, but it could also be argued that disparity in value between a LW and C could be offset by the fact that Tkachuk plays a game that is so hard to find these days, elite player that can agitate and play physical

To be honest... shut up and take the deal lol. Bring Brayden back home, this completely changes the dynamic of the team. Gives great centre depth. Gourde is a very decent top 6 winger. I would run with this.

I might be high on Dube, but he's a 3C rn with slightly above average 2C upside rn, that's more valuable than a slightly overpaid average 2W imo, especially bc Dube still has 2 years left on his ELC, CGY doesn't have the cap for that swap
