An outside look of LAK line-up - am I far off

Description

Capitals is my team, but what fun is it to be interested in the league if you don't have a decent idea of your opponents?

This is my outside look for the Kings line-up. Is it reasonable or do you - fans of the team - see other likely line combinations or pairings at defense? Who's got that special chemistry with another players etc.

I have a hard time getting a grip on the combinations. I assume Kopitar and Brown will stay together, that Prokhorkin and Kovalchuk will be tried for chemistry, which could make a third "pairing" among forwards of Kempe and Carter. I have the latter playing center because he's better on the dot.

Kings needs some talent to refresh things, but maybe it will take until trade deadline (if Kings are on the outside looking in) before a few pending UFAs will be moved, making room for youngsters.

1st line and 4th lines are fine.

Prokhorkin is going to start out at LW. Carter and Kempe will be the centers of the 2nd/3rd lines (number them as you will). If Carter has another abysmal season, they'll move him to wing and move Prokhorkin to center.

Kovalchuk will be on Prokhorkin's wing (whether the latter is LW or C).

Something like this:

Grundstrom-Kempe-Toffoli
and
Prokhorkin-Carter-Kovalchuk
or
Kovalchuk-Prokhorkin-Carter

On defense, both Forbort and LaDue are injured and won't be available for the start of the season. MacDermid and Brickley will fight for Forbort's spot. Roy will start on the right. Once Forbort comes back, he'll get his spot back until he's traded sometime during the season. LaDue is on his way out either via waivers or trade.

The other guys that will possibly get moved out this season via trade are Toffoli, Lewis, Martinez, and Campbell. Jaret Anderson-Dolan is the first forward that will get a call-up, and Kale Clague will be the first defenseman. Mikey Anderson might get a look as well if he has a strong training camp.

Not bad considering you don't know much about the team.
