-Why cz you don’t want to win anymore. Next year you draft a LD you develop him and he can replace Gardiner.
-You protect other players from the draft they can’t take 2 players so if they take Gardiner you keep other players like Perron for example......

You’re trading Allen to Colorado to clear the cap space for Gardiner. I won’t say it’s impossible to trade Allen but the Blues are not going to. Binnington had a remarkable rookie season. The Blues know what they have in Allen and hope they know what Binnington will provide but there’s no guarantee. Allen is the insurance policy.

You managed to clear 4.5 million in cap space in order to sign Gardiner yet you’re ok with Seattle taking him in the expansion draft?? It doesn’t make sense. The Blues currently have J-Bow, Dunn, Edmundson, and Gunnarsson signed. Are you insinuating the franchise can’t win with them and they can only win with Gardiner? Again, it makes no sense.

The Blues definitely need another LD in the pipeline but we don’t know how or if Walman & Mikkola will pan out.
