Don't agree with this as a good signing as they just gave him his career best salary when he is coming off a few years past his prime. He isn't a serious contender for a 10min+ role on any team that should call themselves a contender either. Maybe he finds a 4th line role on the Jets and/or fits in as an AHL vet presence. The reason they must be signing him though is they are desperate for a bit more capable forwards that can be used in training camp to better gauge what they have in other forwards. Borque can be used as a measuring stick: they know he is likely a 4th line at best player and can see how much better, or worse, their "? players" are against him. This signals to me that maybe Laine/Connor wont be signed before training camp and they wanted the extra player to insure they have that competition in camp.
