I don't think this even comes close going off the likely offer sheet compensation for Laine (two 1sts, one second, one third) and the fact that Niku was one of the best offensive defenseman in the AHL two seasons ago and is starting to find his footing at the NHL level (worth at least a second, maybe even a first). I think the Jet's would be looking at a package with the equivalent value of three firsts + second + third for these guys. Your package is probably worth half (Ryan = 3rd, Hamonic = 1st).
Then, Laine signs a 5 x $7M deal? I think the Jets would be happy to offer him that same deal and would have the cap space to do so plus still lock up Connor. His ask for five years is probably near what Skinner just got ($9M), and I think if they do end up at $7M it will be for a couple years, not 5.
