Why was there ever so much hype surrounding this kid? He was a late 1st rounder. It's not like were dealing w/ Alex Nylander or even Michael Dal Colle who I think was a top 5 pick.

he's got a ton of skill. Early career returns translate roughly to 37 points over a full season, which isn't too bad. Kid is just an absolute dunce and always does something that gets him in trouble with management

sign and trade?

Honestly, he's about at the limit isn't he. Teams aren't holding onto wingers forever. Maybe they think he has trade value?

A one year contract is not much of a risk… This year is a do or die for him with the Isles. The kid has a lot of skills but he was kind of misused by NY.

If a recollect correctly. His first practice with the Isles training camp (he was still a junior), he showed up late. Was sent home immediately.

the islanders probably could've traded him and netted a decent return instead of letting him flounder in their farm system

Last chance for this guy to crack the NHL with this team. If he learns what his own zone looks like I think he'd be a good top nine option for the Isles.

Not to mention that he has zero defensive ability

He didnt seem too out of place last season, but then again, nobody really did on the isles. They probably need his 37 points because only four Isles scored 37+ last season, and that cant continue

because he is incredibly skilled; however he is also incredibly lazy, immature and stubborn

he's skilled player and his value is low right now. maybe they end up moving on, but trading him at his lowest value isn't smart when you have control over him for 5 more years

i'm referring to trading him a while ago when his potential was a greater selling point.

I have to think another team would be willing to trade a low round pick for him, or maybe another prospect with a need for a change of scenery. The Isles have wasted his talent and Lou has no patience for kids like Ho-Sang
