I honestly think he will put up 30 playing on a line with mittlestadt and reinhart. He has one of the best shots i have ever seen. He scored 2 goals and 2 assits in 6 games. Which i know isn't a lot to look at but he can get 30 if he plays in top 6 all year.

To this date sure, but he is only 21 and its about everything that he has built around that and will continue to build. If people think that is his ceiling they are sadly mistaken.

I think you need to watch a jets game. Please tell me one thing he does well besides scoring goals. I will wait.

He is terrible in defense zone. he is not good at zone entries or exits. If he cant score he is waste of money. I honestly think that trade is an over payment if you have to pay him 9 million + on long term deal. I think Olofsson can produce close to same rate and better in every other aspect of the game.

Being 24 should be positive because he has more experience. He scored 27 goals in 50 games in SHL 2 years ago and then first year in the states he scores 27 goals in 60 games in the AHL. WIth a full year under his belt playing north american game and if he can stay in the top six especially with mittelstadt and reinhart passing him the puck he can get close to 30 goals.

It will alot to ask but i think that should be is goal along with 50 points with basement being 15 goals and 30 points

He's an absolutely great passer, Wheeler actually scored some goals when Laine was on the top line.. Lol

Sorry but you really don't know what you're talking about, sure he's got some holes in his game but it's not nearly as bad as you make it out to be. He can change a game with one shot, not many guys can do that but he's one of them.

I am sorry but you have your heads in the clouds if u think he is anything other then goal scorer u are crazy. Literally google his name and about him. All reporters call him the most one dimensional player in the league. The only positive his goal scoring is so elite it makes up for the lack in every other aspect of the game.

Oh well if Joe Blow reporter thinks he's one dimensional then it must be true.. ?.. Good gawd, probably the same know it all knobs that trashed Ovi for years, who cares what they think!

And even if he is one dimensional even though he isn't, it is the most important dimension to winning a hockey game, ya know, that goal scoring thing.

It is litterally every expert, reporter, fan or anyone that watches hockey says he is one dimensional. It is just mind boggling that you cant see it.

Also while goal scoring is important it is not everything. Ovi is best goal scorer ever and only one a cup when he finally bought into playing two way game under tortz.

I don't mean to be rude, but what is game-changing about one Laine shot that not many guys can do? Last time I checked, each shot either goes in (we call this a "goal") or it does not go in ("save"), both are things that many - in fact every - NHL player can do. Does Laine have the magical ability to get more than one goal with just one shot? Does his shot cure cancer? Solve global warming? I mean, you are clearly talking about "one shot" here, I don't see how any player can "change a game with one shot" better than any other player. It's not logical. I mean, he scored 3 game-winning goals on 245 shots last year, I'm not sure I see any empirical evidence of your claim.

It makes me laugh when I see people here giving him $9 - 10M contracts, too. He hasn't done anything to deserve that.

His shot can change a game but no its not so good to cure cancer or solve global warming unfortunately.. Lol
