I'm on the other side of this fence. Roslovic is younger, costs less and has the higher ceiling IMO, MTL should do this, Winnipeg shouldn't

As of right now MTL says no. Danault is still entering his prime and is the only center that can play solid defensively for MTL.

cant count on KK to take on every top line in his second season though, if after this season he shows that he ios ready for more then Danault likely gets moved at the draft

I get that, but the stated goal for Habs is to improve on last season. Losing Danault puts them in a precarious position at center this season with 2 players who have under 100 games played forced to replace his minutes.

Is the goal to be better this year or to win the cup? Is this season the season the Habs make a legitimate run? If yes, then keep Danault, if not than keep stockpiling for the year its feasible where Roslovic makes more sense for the future

Firstly Danault has 2 years left on his deal, there is no rush to move him now.

Secondly it's about prospect development. If Danault is moved it forces the young players into roles they might not be prepared for which isn't the best way of developing them.

Lastly potential is all well and good but in the end it doesn't always work out. Plus it's not like MTL desperately need to add younger players, they already have one of the best prospect pools in the league.

Jets cant afford to trade Roscoes ELC for an additional 2m+ in salary! That alone kills this deal unless there are other components included.
PLUS this is the year JR blows up!!!
